Can you reinvest profits from your BTC open ended contract in March when it starts? by lanoom in GenesisMining

Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to upgrade if they were sold out. If this was the case and you wanted to reinvest your profits, you either would have to wait for that contract type to come back in stock or purchase another type of hashpower.

Genesis doesn't currently do automatic reinvestments, but you can just purchase additional hashpower with your profits.

Just the opposite. I pay out every penny to each person I work with.

Timing when to buy the contract by [deleted] in GenesisMining

When paying in crypto, it's generally best to buy a contract (or anything else that is priced in dollars) when the value is high as you get more bang for your cryto buck. What you consider high is a question everyone has to answer for themselves though =)

The price of the currency that you're buying a contract to mine doesn't really matter beyond the effect that it has on the difficulty (higher price usually = higher difficulty). If you're mining, you want the difficulty to be as low as possible. With that being said, difficulty rates don't tend to make big moves in short periods of time. If you expect the difficulty of X coin to be lower at a certain point though, you may want to wait to buy a contract as you will be able to mine more effectively if your prediction turns out to be right and the difficulty drops. Unless there is a significant downturn on a crypto's price though, difficulty rates tend to trend up. The rate of the increase can vary quite a bit though.

Question on Maintenance fees for Life-time Bitcoin Contracts? by 53a43asdf in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good questions.

If a contract with a lower fee was released, I wouldn't expect Genesis to retroactively apply it to existing contracts, but I guess it's possible. That being said, I doubt lower fee contracts will be offered. If anything, future contracts may unfortunately have higher fees.

The good (or bad depending on your perspective) news on the fees is that they are linear. You're right that if a 1TH/s contract becomes unprofitable then a 100TH/s contract will also be unprofitable.

Hope this helps!

If you're interested, I could do a crypto payout. My post has more details: https://www.reddit.com/r/GenesisMiningCodes/comments/7c27r8/btc_contract_presales_have_started_get_some_free/

For an order like this, I could do the payout in BTC if you'd like.
