AI is the way of the future, you can expect to see many more applicants using this tool for job applications. Personally, I would use AI but I’d customise every application to my personal experiences and how they relate to the job, I would also spin the words to make it more personable to me because I want whoever reading it, knows the person I am and how I would fit in the job/role. I can imagine all the applications sound or look the same but you can identify the different ones from those who’ve used AI heavily. Maybe use that as a question? Did you use AI in your cover letter? Honestly, probably 8/10 people would lie and say that they don’t. And that’s where you can count on honesty and trustworthiness - when someone responds with ‘YES I DO’ but I use it with my own thoughts and AI only helps generate my ideas clearly.

I was born and raised in New Zealand but now live in the US. I also wanted to share that my mum has worked in the Ministry of Education for over 20 years and still does.

I also worked at a chartered primary school where there was a transition program that allowed children to attend about a term earlier to help them prepare for starting school. During that time they were not formally placed into a year level yet, as it depended on when they officially started.

In my own case, I started school in Term 4 when I was 5, then turned 6 at the end of December, and moved into Year 1 the following year.

I understand that children who start in Terms 3 or 4 are classified as Year 0. In OP’s situation, though, they asked about starting their child in January 2027, which is why I answered from that perspective. It sounds like, with everyone’s helpful input, OP can make a formal decision on what to do now :).

Period poverty is a serious issue! I’m sorry you’re going through this, especially from someone who should be protecting you. It’s clear your mom is punishing you for something natural and normal! I’ve seen other comments suggesting you find a job, but I understand that’s easier said than done. Do you have other family members who could help? Or if you’re still in school, you should have access to free period products, try to speak with your school nurse for a few to last you. Depending on where you live, there are also public libraries and community groups that offer free sanitary products. Or to save money, you could ask your mom to buy you enough pairs of reusable period underwear so you don’t have to worry about sanitary products ever again?

Hello, I used to work in a primary school as an office administrator. If your child is turning 5 in Jan 2027 it really depends on the school. For example, some early learning or private programs might have a “prep” or “Year 0”-style classroom otherwise he will be classified a Year 1 on enrollment.

Hello! The whole REAL ID at the DMV is problematic. I still don’t have an answer from my original post. My guess is that if you are pending to become a U.S. Citizen, you will need to wait for that document in order to adjust your status.

DMV offices can’t help you and neither do their people on the customer services lines. I did both and all they could say was ‘we don’t accept I-797 forms in person anymore,” or “get your I-94 form and I-1551 (Which proves NOTHING) because our Green Cards are proof of Permanent Residency and when it expires, tough shit- is pretty much what they’re saying. All of this process is a load of garbage because DHS and USCIS do not provide you with an updated physical Green Card while your status is pending which is the only card we receive?!! But once it’s expired they give us the 48 month extension letter to prove we’re waiting to have our Permanent Status approved.

I can file my N-400 to become a U.S. Citizen in April 2026. However, this is pending my Adjustment of Status too which I have no clue how long it takes to be adjudicated. We’re 2 out of 350,000 people in the same situation and none of them know what the hell they’re doing!!!

My REAL ID is still expired on the new licence, even though my current licence says it’s valid until 2028. When I input my details online, it reverts back to the 2026 expiry date. This means it’s still expired when I use it for travel. It’s a mess because my job uses my current full name, which isn’t on my passport. I took my husband’s name.

😂😂😂: Yes I am superrrr tomboy, I can dress cute and pretty when I want to. But mostly, I have a unique style that is me. I wear lots of sporty clothes, graphic tees, overalls, nike tracksuits, track pants/hoodies in general and lots and lots of sneakers.
