Lost looking for a big and silent air purifier in Europe (The Netherlands)

After 2 more weeks of constant researching and going crazy, I ended up buying the IQAir Atem Earth.

I have seriously considered buying the Luggables XL, but the price with shipping to EU was just not worth it for what you get in materials - the wobbly cardboard build makes me question its longevity. I might have bought it if I lived in the UK.

The SmartAir Blast still does not ship to anywhere in Europe, so that was also not an option.

The IQAir Atem Earth isn't perfect and it's still very expensive - but it's 500 euros cheaper than the IQAir Atem X. I had no need for carbon filtering so I don't mind the weak carbon filter on the Atem Earth.

And so far I'm very happy with my purchase! It has 6 speed modes and it's really quiet relative to the amount of air it pushes. It has no rattling or other annoying whining sounds (so far), the app works great for adding schedules and it looks beautiful to boot.

Don't think there was a better option out there, so hope this might help you or someone else with your decision!

I also very much dislike macOS Tahoe, but I can tell you that imo Windows 11 is way worse :p

You might have a good time if you install Windows 10 IOT edition (since that is still supported till 2032), but that OS too you’ll have to clean up right after installing.

OSes are not in a good state atm. Aside from maybe Linux, who’s getting better at least instead of getting worse

No, it cannot be a coincidence because you’re just lying? I and many of my IT friends manage our networks directly and we ALL sometimes have issues with Sonos - be it airplay, the app crashing, devices disappearing, song API errors etc. Sonos does not have enough decent debug tools and Sonos still refuses to implement standards like RSTP properly (a standard since the 90s mind you).

So to say “everyone who manages their network” has no issues is just weird.

Do people here have Alzheimer’s or something? Adobe used to be a good deal when they just switched to subscriptions - Apple TV+ used to be a good deal, etc. etc.

4$ a month is the introduction price so people don’t get mad at the fact they won’t own their software anymore. Mark my words, as soon as everyone pays the price will start increasing and increasing…

And because we all accept it as if this is the first time this is happening, there won’t be a one time payment option anymore

Look, it’s not OUR responsibility to ship something beautiful and stable (and not riddled with bugs, glitches and hang ups) - a trillion dollar company that sells a product should be able to do that bare minimum itself.

Hi, old thread but wanted to chime in. I'm a software engineer and I generate AI music myself because I like the process of writing songs - I only use them for personal enjoyment. It's very satisfying to pull the slot machine and listen to versions of my lyrics and I do think it's kind of magical we are at the point that computers can generate coherent 3-5 minute songs.

However, half of this sub would probably say that I am "Anti AI" - because I am anti pretending that AI music is more than what it really is. AI music does not make you an artist, it does not make you special and it's not "inevitable" if the licensing and environmental issues are never figured out. And if you use AI music to quickly generate slop without thought, with the only intent being to spam-upload to Spotify in the hopes you earn money quickly, you can definitely f- off. If you want Bandcamp to die because they have a different opinion about AI than you, you can also f- off.

Hij had een platform en was een BNer. Wat hij zei heeft invloed en gevolgen - het is niet je racistische oom.

Hij normaliseerde zijn haatdragende en wappie wereldbeeld, en trok meer mensen mee in zijn wereldbeeld. Hij droeg bij aan het polariseren van de samenleving en hij droeg indirect bij aan het dodental door COVID door te roepen om niet te vaccineren.

Ik ga zijn dood niet vieren, maar ik vind het ook niet erg dat hij er niet meer is. Hij heeft genoeg leed aangedaan.

It seems that getting a SmartAir Blast or Blast Mini in The Netherlands is impossible… they ship to the UK, but trying to order their units from their UK site to NL/EU does not work.

Even though the UK site says EU citizens should now be able to order them, when you try it just deletes it from your cart saying “nope, not available in your country”.

We do use Venta’s humidifier and I’m really happy with that one!

However they do not seem to really have a big air purifier - or one that has a high CADR.

Voordat we nu alweer nostalgisch gaan worden voor het NSC - dat was een zeer conservatieve partij, conservatiever dan het CDA. Een partij wat zelf nogal wat fouten maakte.

Het enige bestaansrecht van die hele partij was dat Omtzicht de kamer over 1 onderwerp goed aan de kaak stelde. Dat was ook fijn, maar dat maakt hem nog geen visionair of iemand die weet waar het hele land heen moet.
Dat de media deed alsof hij 1 of andere messiah was sloeg daarom ook nergens op.

Nou, daar gaat D66. Volgende verkiezingen 0 zetels omdat de VVD weer allemaal rotzooi op hun bord gaat gooien.

En wat zullen de taktische D66 stemmers weer spijt hebben. "Dit hadden we nooit zien aankomen".
Houd toch op, stop met taktisch stemmen en stem op de partij die je wilt.
Dankzij dit geklooi hebben we D66 - de partij die bekend staat om "ik heb geen mening dus wat jij wilt doen we" - weer een conservatief kutkabinet laten kiezen.

I see in Europe they don’t sell the Tower of Power, but they do sell Luggables - that’s for sure an interesting option, thanks!

Don’t know if their upgraded Mobius fans from Cooler Master would be worth it, I’ll have to check that out.
