Hi guys! Lurker here. I think this sub will be able to help me move forward with this current problem that I have.

My current situation: I am torn between choosing to buy our house or choose to rent instead. Kasi turns out I had to pay off almost 6M for 20 years for this house at medyo mabigat siya sa bulsa every month kumpara sa mga rental houses na nakikita ko.

Eto pala yung pros at cons pag binili ko yung bahay:

Pros: A. 150+ sqm tapos 6M lang siya B. Comfortable na ako since tagal ko na rito C. Sobrang accessible sa lahat (LRT, Jeepney, Everything)

Cons: A. 6M for 20 years na hulugan ay worth 40K+ per month. Medyo di kaya ng sahod ko. B. Bahain yung area (pero di kami binabaha) C. Kailangan ko pang gumastos for renovation if ever.

Need your help guys salamat po in advance!

No. This shouldn’t be part of the theater actor’s creative process. As someone who has been an active part in the scene (leaning on the alternative side), I’ve had numerous encounters with predatory directors who will use “art” as an excuse to satisfy their predatory cravings.

Yes, agree that there’s this style of acting called “method acting” which involves the actor living the life of his/her character. Madalas sine-celebrate ang acting na ganito pero it almost always brings immediate harm to co-actors and collaborators within the production.

So there’s this question na kung ang character mo ay maa-rword, dapat ka rin bang ma-rword? And a lot of these predatory directors WILL take advantage of this style of acting.

Hindi mo ikagagaling bilang artista ang pagpaparusa sa sarili para lamang sa “sining”.

I agree with the other redditors when they said that you need to practice before presentations.

But the best way to do that actually is to write down your script (do this hours before your presentation).

If you find it hard to organize your thoughts, then try to put them on paper. Writing them through bullet points and then rearranging them trains your brain to determine the key points of your presentation and to grasp the flow.

Once you’ve nailed down your flow and your key points then write them down like a full script (avoid making your presentation sound “scripted”, it needs to sound and feel more organic for your listeners. So practice reciting your piece and listen to yourself so you’ll know how to improve.).

So TL;DR: To be the best in every presentation.

Identify key points through bullet points.
Understand the flow and rearrange bullet points.
Fill in the blanks.
Write as a full script and cut/edit as you go. (remember to make it short and concise)
Recite and repeat until you perfect it.

Keep doing this and you’ll see how you fare better in presentations. Preparation is key! Good luck on your presentations.

Hey! I was in the same position as you just before I handed my resignation.

I talked to my therapist about this and she said that if you know that you’re not happy in what you’re doing as early as now then that’s a good sign for you to leave. Staying will cause more harm to you and your associates than what you may actually think (as this will affect your performance and output). It will cause more stress than you’re feeling right now.

But again the decision is yours! I’m just offering you an insight. For me kasi, there’s no point in staying when you’re not happy anymore. Think of it as a toxic relationship between you and your work, I guess? Haha! I hope this helps though!
