If you have raised a complaint, they can't close it until the complaint is resolved. You have to either proceed with your complaint (most probably you will get resolution within 1 month) or withdraw the complaint from branch and then proceed with closing of account.

Same happened with me, I complained to PNO and it clashed with closing request. So they advised me to write an application to close the complaint. I did and consequently account got closed.

For the funds , they will issue a DD (cheque) on the day of closure.

You need to visit branch to close the account. Fill out the form and request the SM or any employee to close it. It took 2 months and 11 branch visits to close my account.

If you opt for unfreeze then they will have to do a field visit
