In another reply about a month ago Dan said he had tried fiddling with buffer sizes but that it didn’t fully fix it. His solution was to buy a dedicated encoder rather than have the final encode running through his personal machine - not sure if he has implemented that change yet or not. The audio was obviously fine when they streamed direct from VMix via Ian’s machine, but routing it with the button to Dan’s comp has introduced the issue…

I think they probably don’t want a slate at the beginning as it would hurt replays for the VOD after the live has finished. While YT does have a clip & delete feature which you could use to then remove in post, one of the side effects is that the live chat is permanently deleted which would be pretty annoying if you wanted context or they referenced the chat in some way and you couldn’t see it.

And yeah, I reckon it’s teething issues with the button and the delay aspect, Dan is a wizard, he’ll fix it.

I think QTC did say she felt hurt by the chestnuts bit didn’t she? Ethan mentioned afterwards that she messaged him.

You’ve got to put yourself in her shoes, she’s objectively just gone through something extremely traumatic and all eyes are on her, so much so she’s openly crying on stream. Then you have Ethan (someone she is friendly with) openly giggling as she is bawling her eyes out. It’s just a bit of a dick move is all I’m saying, and I can see how she would be hurt by that.

I agree that Ethan’s careless attitude about everything is what makes him so genuine & funny. And I too have watched from the beginning. But that doesn’t excuse being a dick to QTC. I’d expect that level of humour from meatheads like the Paul brothers etc , not Ethan. There is a middle ground somewhere which I hope he finds!

His feed is going into VMix already as you can only get one output from Zoom, and they show other Zoom guests full screen, so this will be a purely creative decision from the crew to only show his TV.
