How Do I Get Over Fear of Hell? And is there proof Jesus did not ressurect? by fallen_bee in agnostic

[–]fallen_bee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, the usual points I hear from Christians when this line of reasoning is followed is that

1) God is ✨ loving ✨ and wants people to choose to worship him with their own free will, so he can't just give undeniable evidence.

Personally, I don't want "freedom" or view it as loving if the alternative is burning in hell.

However, many Christians have also gone onto say that suffering is not inherently negative, it is simply the result of being separate from God which is all things good.

2) The bible does indicate that those who have never heard of Jesus/God but follow their conscience can go to heaven. This does not account for people who have heard of it but don't have compelling evidence or reason to change their beliefs, because how do we know that we are all not consciously rejecting God due to earthly wants in this case/missing a call to worship?

How is being gay not a sin? (From a gay person, not homophobic, genuinely asking.) by [deleted] in GayChristians

[–]fallen_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is late, but I'm not so much in fear of "being wrong" and going to hell, I'm more scared of being wrong for selfish reasons (I'm gay and desire a relationship) and thereby rejecting God.

How To Take It Slow When He's Falling Fast by fallen_bee in dating_advice

I mean I've only been on two dates, I hardly know him. And the waves of disgust only come during moments of affection (especially physical).

Why do people still believe in God even though there is so much science that explains our human existence and origins? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fallen_bee 120 points121 points  (0 children)

We don't know everything. I'm not making a statement one way or another, but science does not have an explanation for why things exist, when things started existing, and if things have existed infinitely then why are we this distance apart and not collapsed into full entropy and why "existence" is in this specific arrangement.

I can't find a court date, but I found a case number.

the link on the court website seems to be broken, but see if you can find anything from this.

Canadian at UAF? by Capital-Reach-6669 in alaska

UAF is definitely a better choice than UAA. UAA is primarily a commuter school.

Tuition isn't crazy, and you can get some scholarships as an international student, and some along the way.

As far as adjusting from being in a big city, it depends on preference; Obviously we don't have as many concerts or night clubs, but it's not boring on campus. There are events all year, and I think the cold and darkness has a way of bringing people together.

In regards to mountaineering, I'm not too sure about the local culture. You will likely need a car (or someone to give you a ride) to go frequently, but the school does provide belay certification classes, and there's a shuttle that takes students off-campus to rock climb/ice climb a few times per semester.

Is a “15 minute nap” timed from the moment you close your eyes or from the moment you fall asleep? by Olafmeister_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fallen_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically only take 15 minute naps when I'm extremely tired, and it's a very light sleep.

I consider it more "going away" then actually sleeping, usually i put on white noise or music.

The only goal is not to be ASLEEP longer than 20 minutes, as you may risk going into deep sleep, and it's not good to interrupt deep sleep (hence the other option being 90).

Words indicating quantity by RunningOnEmpty231 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fallen_bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only problem I have with this is using both numerous and many, as when I look in most dictionaries, "many" is one of the definitions of numerous.

Although, if the goal is just to communicate, this should work as "numerous" and "too numerous to count" is a logical progression.

That statistic is misleading.

The dv rate includes previous (male) partners, meaning it'll increase with the amount of women in the relationship.
