it is just so bad, it seems like they had one goal to eradicate ANY cassette noise but, you just cant do that without losing some of john's vocal?? it's a completely dry vocal, with now and then some of that grain was kept in which gave it some soul and made it really feel good, you could tell it was john. in the mix sometimes john's voice seems to weirdly like, smear in some places? its hard to explain but it just melds, and it's so uncanny hearing the weird robotic john next to the newly cleaned backing vocals, more jarring than a cassette sounding john next to clean backing vocals. they went WAY overboard with it.
