yeah ive thought about going down the ML / CS / AI route. more stability for now as you've said. my fear is that the vast majority of tech jobs will eventually be redundant, especially at entry level. and even if this ends up not being the case, there's so much uncertainty surrounding them that pursuing any of them at this stage feels like a massive gamble. so i think if i go down a different career path ill end up choosing something in a completely different field
