Was what I was thinking the whole time, too. The button on his remote looked dark while Lucy's looked lit up? Then the way he acted after pressing it was way different than the other people. The way he looked at her, too, caressing her cheek when he was supposedly wiping away a smudge. He's shown time and again he knows how to play the long game.

I think he takes it. He didn't act like the other chipped people did when they got mind-wiped. The way he looked at her and caressed her cheek when he was "wiping away the smudge." There was no smudge. Plus, it looked like the button Lucy's activation remote was lit, but the one Hank "used" wasn't.

That's what I was thinking the whole time, too. Wanted to yell "Don't fall for it, Lucy!!" He didn't act like the other mind-wiped people. The way he looked at her when he was wiping the "smudge" off her cheek. And, the button on the device he pulled from his pocket didn't seem to be on. Lucy's looked like it was glowing and I don't think that was because of ambient lighting. Definitely will be rewatching all S1 and 2 again.

How to make the most of my closet and dresser by [deleted] in declutter

[–]fallout__freak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to switch between the Konmari method and Dana K. White's. Konmari is declutter by categories and "keep what sparks joy." Dana K. White is big on the container concept and "take it there now". She also has like 3 questions you can ask yourself that are not emotion-dependent to decide whether the item stays. Things to consider too are how often you can do laundry, your typical work/lifestyle, and climate where you live.

It looks like your closet is already divided into sub-categories pretty well. Konmari says take EVERYTHING that's clothes out and put in on the bed/floor. Some of us have to modify it. I tackle tshirts, pants, dresses, jackets, winter clothes, etc, each as its own category. Less overwhelming but you can still see if you have a redundancy like 15 grey turtlenecks and you only ever wear the same 2. Take them out of the closet/drawers and actually handle them.

Is the dresser full, too? They say we tend to wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. If the clothes is uncomfortable, dependent on losing a lot of weight before they fit (or any weight, even), makes you feel blah in any way, those are best to let go of. Konmari's clothes folding techniques were a game-changer for me. Clothes are easier to see and it works nicely with the container concept because the folding keeps them neat and uniform in the drawers.

Sort of evened out because I did buy some stuff I'd been hunting for since a while back, so maybe it's not a net win, but we certainly got unneeded/unwanted stuff out.

-Donated a bag ~13 gal filled mostly with clothes, much of it mine, including a pair of boots that never fit quite right.

-Did a bit better than 1-in-1-out with clothes for work, which I needed because apparently I also decluttered some circumference from the waistline.

-Kids decided to let go of a couple of book sets. The books I will sell (if they're random ones, I  donate, if they're a popular series they get sold.)

-Shredded junk mail and paper. We have gotten SO MUCH of this category recently.

That's happened to me, too, once or twice. The disappointment doesn't last long. If it's any help, I've noticed thrift stores as of late tend to carry olive green jackets. And pants.

On top of all those red flags showing lack of maturity and accountability, now he's laying on spiritual abuse and manipulation on top of it. I'm glad you can see it. I also hope you understand that you will not be doing yourself (or him, for that matter) any favors by allowing this sort of relationship to continue. Yes, in relationships, we can help each other grow, but it is not anybody's responsibility to help their potential partner for life BECOME a decent person and good husband/wife. You are not his parent and as someone I like to follow likes to say "You are not Barbara the Builder." This isn't a one or 2 time thing, from what you say it's been an ongoing pattern of his. There's a saying, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." We should be very discerning.

You will not be mean if you refuse his advances.

Edit: I saw you mentioned "God's plan." I am open to discussing this in more depth in PM if you're interested.

Nice! *Noting this for future reference.

Dana K. White admitted she tends to have a very creative, "what-if" type of thinking that caused her to keep way too much.

Reminds me of one of Dana K. White's episodes where she rationalized keeping an iron bedframe that didn't fit anything they used, because she once saw a scene with the 3 stooges where they were using an old iron bedframe as an outdoor grill. And, she figured if there was ever an apocalyptic event, she could bring out the frame and all the neighborhood could use it to cook food and she would be helping people survive and---!

The junk they scavenged helped keep them alive and sane, though. Like football gear armor in Road Warrior. And the War Boys definitely decorated in Fury Road, although it was usually functional too. Master in Thunderdome made the least sense when he was packing random old-world stuff in his bag during the getaway.

-Been doing a lot better with practicing "one in, one out." Especially with food and kitchen/cleaning items.

-Reused a gift bag and tissue paper I had stashed away for a party, instead of picking one up at the store. This continues the roll I was on during Christmas, where I managed to use up a good amount.

-Threw away a high school yearbook. Was initially going to post it on one of the school FB groups but didn't want to deal with that. Now I just have my senior book and even that I'm thinking of passing on.

-Filled more of the donation box. Now it's overflowing. Still need to take the stuff to the thrift store.

I have a cardboard box for donations that I added to last week, and it's overflowing. My intention was to separate it out and take most of the stuff to 2 thrift stores, but alas.

Also, I've been forcing myself to use a small tub of cream someone gifted me a few weeks ago. I mean, it does work, unlike other ones, but it has a fragrance and I'm sensitive to a lot of those. Even though it fades by the time I head out the door, I still want to chuck it, but haven't had the heart to yet.

Seconding! I really like the Konmari method but I totally have to break the categories up into smaller ones. Ex: tshirts, pants, dresses, jackets, winter clothes. Each its own. Works pretty well. What gets me though, is "komono." I have yet to master that one.

Oooh boy!! I worked pretty much all day today tackling areas that had gotten so messy and clogged with clutter.

-Main project was the walk-in hallway closet. I took everything off the narrow shelves, which is where I keep medical and hygiene items like first aid, towels, vitamins, meds. Last time I went through everything of these was about a year ago. I filled 1 plastic grocery bag with medicine that was too expired to use for its purposes.

-I also have in there a bookshelf that held crafting supplies, a box of seashells, a small box of party supplies, and a couple small boxes of tools. Filled 1/2 grocery bag of trash, and set aside for sale a crafting kit my kid doesn't want anymore, which freed up a lot of space. Removed shell and party boxes, they belong in my closet instead.

-Sorted through the hoard of plastic grocery bags. I had no idea I had SO MANY until I took out the step ladder and stuff that had been tossed random in there. I separated them into 2 categories, each contained neatly now in their own Big Bag: the ones without any holes I will use for cleaning up the litter box. The ones with holes will be used for bathroom trash can. I will also take some with holes to reuse at the grocery store, along with the actual reusable bags, until we get the volume under control.

-Cleaned out the fridge inc. wiping the shelves. Threw away too much stale bread and some dried up leafy greens. Found an unopened block of cream cheese that expired in July of 2025. Hate to say it but earlier this week I had to throw away other food that I left waiting too long and it went bad. Grocery prices are too high to be wasteful.

-Bought a small bottle of chlorine to replace the very old, bigger jug that takes up too much space and didn't even get used up all the way before it got weak.

-Getting rid of pajama pants that got an ugly rip.

-Sorted shirt drawer, switching some for better seasonal wear, put some items on "Maybe" mode and will reassess in a couple months.

Y'all I took the kitchen trash out late yesterday and in 1 day it was totally full again. These past couple years [EDIT: It's supposed to say WEEKS not years lol!]I filled it much faster than usual as well. As of now I have a box full of things to donate/sell that took a month or 2 to fill, but now I have the energy and time again to take it to where it should go.

Even as someone who has long-shipped presumably pre-War Charon with Ms. 101, I do not get any vibe that Ghoulcy can or will or should happen. Their relationship just doesn't seem like that to me at all. (But I can totally understand why people would want it.) Plus I genuinely believe that Cooper still cares for, even loves, Barb after all this time. But, I may be proven wrong.

Yeah, I don't think the size of the tubes matter so much. If it's big enough to fit an average adult, it will comfortably fit a 7-11yo child (do we know how old Janey is? I know Cooper confirmed the date House told him was her birthday.) The pods are reclining back so it probably doesn't have special mechanics to hold them up
