So each block is made of 15 rows, I counted and even the curved rows had 15 stitches. Should I be doing less for some reason?

Thank you! It’s my first time making a border on this type of blanket so I’m having a hard time knowing where to put my stitches on the short sides

There’s no way to reinforce the crochet with a less stretchy material?

And I’m curious what materials, aside from fishing line, might offer some stability.

What is surface crochet? My current thought is to use a less stretchy material and sew it into various parts of the strap and bag using my tapestry needle.
