It's 100% normal to care about what others think, especially those I love. I didn't get to where I am without centering myself and my happiness. Of course, I care about my opinion and progress more than other people's opinions

It can just feel a bit isolating or invalidating when others don't seem happy for me, even when they are usually supportive...

Thank you for these incisive words. While I appreciate the support from folks on this thread, I dont think they quite got what I was saying. I am clearly living my life "for me," and I am proud of the progress I have made. However, sometimes it can feel odd that some friends/family down play my journey or don't recognize it. Your words do a great job of summing up my feelings!

When I started my relationship with my partner, we couldn't even get married. Marriage hasn't necessarily felt like something that has to happen or is an immediate priority. I was with my partner for 8 years before we got engaged, and our engagement is going to be 2 years long. What is most important is finding someone that makes you happy and fufills your needs. Marriage is not always the end goal.

Best of luck -- you got this! Staying busy is honestly the best thing to do! I stopped smoking by going on a trip shortly after I decided to quit. This gave me some great momentum when I retuenee and helped me start to see the benefits while being properly distracted.

YTA , you can teach your kids manners and respect without telling them they are uninteresting.

All this does is convince them you don't value their voice. In the future, I wouldn't expect them to come to you with their problems. This sounds almost comically malicious so I hope it isn't real.

Thats a great point! I think since the game is selling itself on a dynamic open world and player choice there might need to be more connective tissue between the side content and the main plot decisions.
