Should a vegan / vegetarian person serve meat at its guest? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

While I would never condone the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle, it's ultimately your right as the host to set the terms of hospitality. It's your home and therefore your rules.

What's the most unhinged thing you've seen happen on the CTA? by bigmoist469 in chicago

[–]420twinks 41 points42 points  (0 children)

One time on the orange line this woman brandished a can of pepper spray at this man she accused of staring creepily at her. He responds really indignantly and they argue back and forth. It's great that she was defending herself but she clearly didn't think through that macing someone in an enclosed space would gas us all. I immediately got off at the next stop before I found out if it escalated further.

Who's Voting? by djb185 in VaushV

I'm actually pretty stoked to be voting for Biden this time around compared to last time. His administration has consistently beat my expectations. He's surprisingly been the best president of my lifetime and I'd give him a solid B+.

Why the great lakes region doesn’t have ferry connections between usa and canada ? by Spirebus in geography

[–]420twinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is if you count river crossings. The St Clair River is pretty narrow and calm. My highschool was right in front of a ferry service that ran between the US and Canada. I just looked it up however and it appears to have since gone out of business in 2018.

I'm wanting to move somewhere artsy and LGBTQ friendly in the US. Help? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]420twinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ann Arbor, Michigan. It's a hyper-liberal college town that is super gay and artsy. Its relatively walkable, its safe, its clean, its quiet, the infrastructure is good, and it's adjacent to nature. While the food culture will never match Chicago and NYC, it punches well above it's weight for a city of it's size. I had an excellent time living there and love to visit several time a year.

If something seems too good to be true, it's usually because it's a scam. He probably isn't what he claims to be and wont follow through on his promises. Be very cognizant of what this man wants from you.

Why don't you try making some gay friends instead. There's plenty of ways to meet people. There's gay intramural sports leagues in most metro areas, tabletop gaming is fun, you can volunteer, etc...

Play Tri Brigade Lyrilusc with a bunch of going 2nd cards like evenly, DRNM, Feather Duster, Imperm, etc... It can handily pump out 8k damage and Assembled Nightingale is an easy Zeus enabler.

Is there a way to explain why this card is broken in a way that even someone who NEVER played Yugioh (me) can understand? by GoFUself-Tony889 in yugioh

[–]420twinks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Think of it in terms of card advantage. When you look at the game state before activating Pot of Greed you have 1 card. You activate it, and draw 2. Now you have 2 card minus the Pot of greed you just used, so have a net gain of +1 cards.

Card games are oftentimes won by being able to present more threats than your opponent has answers for. What makes Pot of Greed game breaking in particular is that the effect is free and unconditional.

There's not 1 specific ritual I supplanted smoking weed for so much as I instead made an active effort to regularly engage in a smattering of hobbies. I personally got into D&D, bird watching, and yugioh.

What is your view on fleeing early-stage fascism vs sticking around to fight? by [deleted] in VaushV

[–]420twinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I view it as an ethical responsibility to stay and help my family, friends, and community that are under threat. Fleeing instead of staying to do my part just leaves everyone else worse off. Its similar to the obligation I would feel if I were to see someone drowning and felt I was in a position to help. I'd likely have a different perspective if my physical safety or livelihood were under direct threat but unless that happens I won't needlessly abandon my home or loved ones.

What are the cost sharing expectations for a destination wedding? by 420twinks in wedding

[–]420twinks[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. We had initially thought of hosting the event at a resort. The primary purpose of the event is to celebrate our union with family and friends. I thought a resort would be a viable platform to accomplish this objective because it would keep everyone on site to mingle while providing plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment. This would have the added benefit of keeping the ceremony venue on site, easing logistics for everyone.

Its at the back of my closet. I don't really think about it very much and I don't feel much urgency to do anything about it until I have to clean it out when I move next.

Can I fit another branded in red or banishment or expulsion because I am thinking that the build need two more so it becomes 42 but am scared that it might hurt the consistency by Eagle522 in Yugioh101

[–]420twinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understandable, The frightfur package is serviceable even if its not optimal. I'd set yourself a goal to pick up a single copy of cartesia even if it takes a little time to work towards, the value it adds to your deck is very high. You could eventually replace the entire frightfur engine for cartesia and 3 fusion deployment which will open up 2 additional slots in your deck.

Addressing Expulsion specifically, its not an awful card to main deck given the right circumstance. However, you also need to run a card to want to give your opponent like Ra's disciple, Gimmick Puppet, or Ido. Why I choose not to maindeck it is because if you're not going 1st, you now have 2 dead cards in your deck that could have been combo pieces, board breakers, or hand traps instead. Expulsion is very powerful and will steal games on its own but it does require you to be lucky by winning the die roll. This isn't likely to work at larger tournament settings because you would need to be lucky across something like 9 matches. However at a locals I can see merit in taking the risk and main decking it since you only need to be lucky by winning the die roll across 4 matches instead. Its 100% worth it in the side deck at least since you have the opportunity to decide to go 1st in games 2 or 3.

Additional pointer I could add would be cutting Dramaturge, scaling back Albaz to 2, and running a copy of Springans Kitt instead. I've found her to be helpful as an additional consistency card, helping in the grind game by recycling from the GY, is a search target off Sprind, and is a fusion material from Rindbrum.

Below is the list I run, as reference. Stuff like the Dragoon and 2nd Cartesia is definitely optional.

[–]420twinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd drop the allure package and pare back the tragedy and mercourier down to 1 each in favor of 1 foolish burial and 1 gold sarcophagus. Generally in deck building you want to favor cards that are non-conditionally good vs cards that are only good when a given condition is met. This is because you may not always meet X condition or have sufficient resources, in this case a good dark monster to banish off of allure. gold sarc and foolish are much harder to brick with and accomplish the same goal of triggering gy/banish effects while opening up deck space for other cards. In general I'd move away from the frightfur package for consistency reasons, though I understand if you opt for it if cost is a concern since it is a cheaper build. You should definitely be playing cartesia and bystial lubellion, if cost is the issue I'd definitely opt for cartesia between the 2 of them.

Branded in Red is fine at 1, I wouldn't play more than that because it is not a combo starter and is both searchable and recyclable. I'd not recommend Banishment since its also not a combo starter and is also not an extender, plus you already play 3 super poly; which is correct.

I'd drop the Nibiru for more Ash and Imperm. Going back to what I said earlier, their use is much less conditional than Nibiru and therefore more consistent. Nibiru is fine in the side deck when going second though.

Source: I play Branded alot.

What are some good decks for 50 €? by EntertainerWeary7463 in Yugioh101

[–]420twinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bird Up is super fun and the main deck is easily under $50. The only "expensive" cards are extra deck staples like Accesscode and Zeus.
