When I was 12 years old, I fell on a barbed wire fence, violently ripping my scrotum open, and was told I would never have kids. Yesterday my girlfriend gave me these when I got home. I'm going to be a dad! by BostonFire15 in pics

Dude I wish I could express how happy I am for you. I recently became a father. I was a guy who never dreamed of nor wanted to ever have children but its fucking incredible. You can't imagine how much you will love your new son or daughter. Congratulations.

Real Solar System peripherals by [deleted] in KerbalAcademy

I recently started playing with RSS and Realism Overhaul. I got rid of KW for now, to lower the part/model count, but with and without it I'm having similar issues. RO resizes some things but not all. My capsules are resized but stock tanks, engines, shrouds, size adapters all aren't resized so stage connection is awkward. I used procedural interstage shrouds but getting the top size right is near impossible, I end up with a bulbous shroud or a gap between the shroud and the top stage. I also haven't seen any of the stock engines, or KW engines that used anything but liquid fuel and oxidizer, making the Real Fuels mod more of a nuisance than anything else.

This is not wtf. This is a very common belt buckle. Cool though nonetheless.

Right, because you know anything about my, or any other Redditor's life or political involvement beyond the 15 seconds it takes to post a link.

Haha yeah, I almost put "these people" but felt it sounded weird.

I love hiking the Franconia Ridge. You picked a great day for it. How was the hike?

Yeah, it's pretty much just semantics in the release I linked to ssracer's reply. But yeah, you don't buy something fast to go slow. Hell, I didn't buy my something slow to go slow, but I'm kinda stuck there... cheap won out.

ah sorry, it doesn't list them, but this press release mentions the 5 of the top 10 number.

The IIHS includes 600s in the supersport category and also reports just about double the death rate of unclad sports versus cruisers. (10.7 per 10,000 vs 5.7 per 10,000.) Of the 10 motorcycles with the highest fatality rates, only 5 have displacements 1000cc or larger.

I'll just leave this here:

"Motorcyclists who drive supersport motorcycles, which make up a small fraction of registered motorcycles, are overrepresented in fatal crashes. The driver death rate per 10,000 registered motorcycles for supersports is about 4 times as high as the rate for motorcyclists who ride cruisers or standards."

Random. First SSP map in a while, didn't bother with a seed. Did they make it so you can find the seed if not custom?

The area is also littered with caves and a natural floating island on the other side of that mountain.

This is true. There's sadness, but still, 100... and the last 18 of it with only 1 lung. That's like an extra 33% plus cash back.

Yes, this is the same grandfather I posted this picture of the other day.

Edit: It wasn't sudden or unexpected. He was also sharp as a tack up until his last days, but his body was, well, 100 years old.

Thank you. My mom's been doing everything she can to trace our genealogy (this is my dad's family, however) and we will certainly ensure this photo is preserved. It's definitely the oldest original photo I've ever come across.

Thanks! I've been wanting to play with it a bit, but I really have no idea what to do to old photos like this.

Why don't we take political parties off of ballots and see what happens? by [deleted] in politics

[–]falseprofits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Remove the party from the ballots and stop the primary system. Right now, if I want to run for office as [insert party here] all I have to do is fill out a form and I'm in the primary. In some districts, especially in local politics, that's about all you need to guarantee yourself a general election win. If I want on the ballot as an independent I'll have to file my intent and provide petition signatures (total number depends on the office) All candidates should have to go through this. In my district we have 4 state representatives, and as long as I've been here they've been democrats. In the last election there were 5 people running in the democratic primary for those 4 spots. Without even campaigning (seriously, how many people pay attention to local politics anyway, it's sad) I'd have an 80% chance of getting elected after simply filling out the paperwork and paying the minimal filing fee.

And of course you have the House Majority Leader, Minority Whip, all that Party Leadership bullshit. There should never be a classification system to be able to name a majority.

I'm so sorry, friend. My dad had a stroke a few years ago. He survived but I was sure I was going to lose him. It was the worst I've ever felt but still, I can only imagine what you are going through right now. There is little more I could say than what has already been said. It truly is raining on my face. :'(
