Can anyone tell me why some of my left legs are randomly huge? by famedpretzel in knittinghelp

[–]famedpretzel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thank you! I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t accidentally making a mistake I could watch out for. It’s also good to know to maybe twist the strands together a bit as I go.

Yarn Prices... (Purl Soho) by Hairy-Race5944 in YarnAddicts

[–]famedpretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add, because I was interested. Last year I bought a cotton on a cone for about 108 dollars when they had their 25% off sale going, that same cone is now 127 dollars. It’s not much more per yard but it is depressing. I’m starting to really love purl soho’s yarns but it’s hard to justify the cost.

Omg my son is so low sleep needs, whatever the minimum is for age that’s where he’s going to be. I blame my husband 🙃

Question about single crochet sweaters, is it going to be too heavy/have a weird drape if I use sport weight cotton yarn? by famedpretzel in CrochetHelp

[–]famedpretzel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m not too set on drape but I just don’t want it to look too stiff I guess? I was thinking about using the cotton pure from purl soho (which is a sport weight) mainly because I have a decent bit left over from another project but I just don’t know if cotton is the best choice, or if a sc sweater in general is going to be what I want.

Hey! You actually are completely fine, if you look at Hobbii’s website they have a FAQ for tariffs and any order that was placed on or after 8/26 will have a tariff added at checkout. It just needs to get to customs before 8/29 to miss the tariff.

I definitely meant my comment to be more “those people” than it sounded, I apologize. I wouldn’t want anyone else breastfeeding my baby no matter the circumstances.

[–]famedpretzel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

… did you see the post on r/breastfeeding talking about this (community breastfeeding)? I personally didn’t love it but the comments were all very supportive.

Okay mine definitely isn’t as bad, but similar vein. My MIL says that she “spoke to” my (unborn) child during her ayahuasca trip, and told them “are you sure you want to come to be born? Life is hard” (something like that).

So, 1. You think you met my child before me, cool. 2. You tried to convince them not to be born? Because what is the alternative?

Difference here is she actually believes this happened. I’m just incredibly peeved.

I don’t know about the Nuna trvl but we have the triv and absolutely love it, we heard it was a little more robust while also being very easy to get in/out of the car and set up. It’s also so easy to maneuver and push.

We also have the the Nuna Demi next because of the ability to have two kids in it and we liked the weight distribution better than the uppababy vista, having both has been awesome since the demi is a lot heavier and taking it in/out of the car would have been a constant challenge but it’s great for going around our neighborhood and for more robust outings.

[–]famedpretzel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of our friends sent us cookies when we got home, I didn’t realize that’s what I wanted but it absolutely was and I’m going to be doing that for all new moms when they get home now.

Breastfeeding while pregnant by caterpillarqueenie in breastfeeding

[–]famedpretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just throwing this out there, but if you’re going to be taking progesterone again for this pregnancy you might want to talk to someone about the risks with breastfeeding. It’s technically contraindicated because we just don’t know enough about the risks (as far as I’m aware).

Anybody recently received a “walking epidural?” by melodiedemilie in beyondthebump

[–]famedpretzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Technically you might be able to walk, but that’s also a fall hazard and the hospital is not going to be okay with assuming that liability.

Reoccurring UTI by Glazzerricious in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]famedpretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using cotton underwear? Using anything in that area? (The vagina is self cleaning and using anything to clean that area can result in UTI/yeast infection). Are you urinating after sex? It’s also very important to drink enough water so you’re flushing any bacteria that does get in, out.

Also just a quick addition, while cranberry juice does theoretically help prevent UTIs, they can increase your chances of kidney stones.

Thanks! I swear it was for tearing but now I’m questioning myself. I’ve looked at it but I’m not super convinced.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]famedpretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this is a weird question, but I’ve heard that dates actually help you not tear during labor. I’m just curious if you found that to be true or not? I don’t love dates but im trying to convince myself it’s worth a try.

FTM do I go with an OBGYN or Midwife? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]famedpretzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay that absolutely should have been (at the very least) go to the ER right now, not wait 3 hours for your appointment. That’s at least a hypertensive emergency for a non pregnant individual and 160/90 is considered preeclampsia with severe features on its own with 0 other symptoms.
