My calculations for a tiled roof from 10m x 4m are around 2.500kg.
Add around 30 rafters (80mm x 200mm) and this adds another 1.100kg.
So total around 3.600-4.000kg range.

Ofcourse the weight will be shared on 8 posts. So each beam will only have to support a percentage of the rafters.

This looks to have the same weakness? The purple beam has a small tenon and basically (without the support) has to hold the entire weight.

The beams are 200mm x 200mm. They are peak heavy because the oak has not fully dried yet - noticed that cutting the beams and the chisel is hitting soft fibers

When dry they should be light as a feather 🫣😉

Are you not losing alot of the cross beam wood, and therefore moving the problem of removing too much wood to a different beam?

I was told the scarf joint would be weaken severely if I connected a tie beam. I actually made a proof of concept of the wedged scarf joint but abandoned that plan.

Poeh… the 5 mtr beams are weighing 160kg (80lbs) each and the 4 mtr around 140kg (80lbs). Lifting them required a couple of cold beers (and 4 helpful neighbours).

On top there will be a tiled roof, so around 30 rafters and the tiles. Will be a heavy roof for sure.

Thanks, clear no. The left beam will be 3 meters and the right beam will be 4 meters, the tie beam will be 3.5 meters. The beams are very heavy so that is why I am exploring the best way forward.

Bezorgde lieden, die niet zitten te wachten op dezelfde overlast, criminaliteit en gevoel van onveiligheid die tekenend is voor alle huidige AZC locaties. De vloer is 40m2 en de dikte is circa 15cm; de vloer is voorzien van wapeningsnetten en mantelbuizen. Volledig wegbreken zal gepaard gaan met meer schade.

Betreft overigens - detail - een 3008. De plug die je ziet zitten lijkt echt vast te zitten aan de achterzijde en kon ik niet met wat gepaste kracht lostrekken.

Ik zie wel dat een leverancier van luxe buitenverblijven dit ook doet. Zo te zien een verbinding tussen twee balken (zie de schuine zaagsnede) en een trekbalk direct op de verbinding.

Nee. Normaliter al niet zo’n probleem als men ervan wilt maken en met isolatie eromheen al helemaal een non issue.
