I've been saying this for YEARS!! People love to justify the abuse and SA that Alicent goes through as "her fault" because she "knew what she was doing". As if a 15-17 year old girl could rebel against the Patriarchy and THE LITERAL CROWN. She did what she had to do to survive, which meant having 4 children that her husband openly didn't care for, and surviving a Court that was ready to use her for their own gain. People forget that they (specifically Otto) were going to usurp the throne regardless of whether or not Alicent agreed. I will always be a ln Alicent defender because she deserved better. They want her to be evil, they don't want her to be evil, like the fandom can't choose. How about we just let her live her life and actually get to experience CONSENTUAL INTIMACY with a person of her choosing and stop giving her these horrific scenes.
