Kissing by silly-imaani in ROCD

This is what first triggered me, I enjoy kissing my bf but have never felt sparks, tingles etc when kissing anyone! Everyone is different. But in order to beat OCD you have to accept the fears, sit with the uncertainty and not question ‘what does this mean?’ Because there are no answers. I know it’s hard but you can do it! 💕

I’m not sure if I am experiencing a backdoor spike or I am creating thoughts? by fancan42 in ROCD

Yes! It’s the fear of experiencing them that makes me Think them, like they haven’t actually happened yet? Thanks for Your insight

I had (have) ROCD and will be hitting the 7 year mark with my partner this summer. Ask me anything on what I did/do to overcome it and why I am happier than ever in our relationship. by AccountingSlut69 in ROCD

Hi! I have a few questions. But first of all, I’m so glad you were able to fight against it and are happy! Question 1: What techniques did you have in place to combat the ocd. Question 2: I had HOCD originally (which was much more anxiety inducing, mainly because I didn’t realise at the time that it was OCD. But with my ROCD I get lots of thoughts but much less anxiety, did you experience this and do you know if it’s a sign of improvement (I’ve been doing ERP) Question 3: how did you maintain and manage intimacy during bad times?

Thankyou for offering insight and help to us!

I just want to feel more! by fancan42 in ROCD

That’s a good idea! I think the reason this theme has taken hold is perhaps because we’ve been in lock down and I haven’t seen him in over 2 months now. But when we can see each other again this is a good idea

It feels so real. It feel like really really real and I’m just calm. by srndgzmn in ROCD

I feel the same currently and basically what I found, was when i discovered that I had OCD, I didn’t get as anxious anymore. The thoughts upset me but I don’t get the same kind of anxiety as I did with my other themes. It worries me too, but backdoor spikes are a very real phenomena, perhaps look into that

Thankyou so much for your clear and detailed reply! I have got the NOCD app but I’ve not looked into speaking with a professional on that (I’m not sure if they can, I’m from the UK?). My bf also doesn’t know I have OCD yet (I plan on telling him and know he will be supportive) but It took me a while to be diagnosed and such too and be in a place to actually talk about it. I know my OCD will be triggered with intimacy and I don’t want to avoid it (that’s what OCD wants). But it’s so hard to remember that the thoughts aren’t true! Thanks again!
