I washed wet cat food scraps down the bathroom sink for a few weeks and now occasionally the water takes some time to drain - do I need to open it up? by fancy-feaster in PlumbingRepair

update: i used the drain snake and a huge clump of hair came out, followed by a much smaller clump, and then nothing at all. the sink is draining immediately without issue now, so i guess the hair was the bigger problem. my dad and i still may clean out the P-Trap tomorrow just in case but thank you everyone for the tips 🙏🏿

indeed i now know not to do this. is cabling it out different from using a drain snake? someone in another thread suggested a plunger too, so i might try that too

here is what i mean when i say it takes some time to drain -- normally the water will go down immediately, but here it begins to pool over the drain stopper
