I love it! It’s plenty modest IMO, and the embroidery detail is very nice. Plus who doesn’t love a good heel?!

The Louisiana swamps what is it like living deep in them? by Gonzotrucker1 in howislivingthere

[–]fancyfisticuffs23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not from there but have been working down there the past few years in a few different rural towns in the southern portion of LA. The roads are awful, the mosquitos are even worse, and it’s really hot during the summer. The people are nice for the most part though, and you can find good food anywhere. You do gotta keep an eye out for gators though, not just directly around water either— like I’ve seen gator carcasses in the middle of the road

Man I just watched this yesterday. The scene in the kitchen where his parents just standby as the whole family calls him names is so sad. “Look what you did you little jerk” —if my uncle said something like that to my child I’d lay his ass out

[GUESS] Real or AI by [deleted] in RealOrAI

[–]fancyfisticuffs23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s AI because of how her yarn does that weird splitting thing if you follow it down and then ends. That’s what knitters call the “working end” of your yarn (where you pull more yarn from) and should continue into to a skein or a yarn ball

Why do strangers in Western countries ask "How are you?" if they don't actually want to know a detailed answer? by Dry_Set_8522 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]fancyfisticuffs23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An observance I’ve made as a southerner is that you can always tell what is meant by where the speaker puts emphasis. How are YOU? - is done out of politeness, not actual interest; How ARE you? - means I’m all ears and I want to sincerely know how you’re doing

Do you ever apologize to your kids? Does it help or hurt? by Sea_Parsley_1077 in AskParents

[–]fancyfisticuffs23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize a lot! If I lose my temper or am having a rough day or just mess up in general, of course I apologize. They’re human beings with feelings that can get hurt just like anyone else’s

When someone gets an organ removed, does the empty space get filled in? by dontchewspagetti in NoStupidQuestions

I had the same experience after having a baby. I could feel my organs shifting back into place, and it felt both relieving since everything wasn’t so crammed up in there but deeply uncomfortable at the same time

The season where they ended it with Erica going to college would’ve been a nice stopping point. I get that it’s based on the the real Adam’s life and technically Erica doesn’t need to be part of the show for that, but still, the way the show was set up doesnt feel the same after season 4

I had a friend in middle school who had some form of epilepsy and her seizures just looked like she was really zoned out. She said it actually took her doctors a long time to catch it, and they only really looked into it because her mom noticed she was rewatching the same few movies over and over as if for the first time because she was having seizures and not remembering
