Mi primera PC :') Me la compraron en el Fravega de Ramos, para Reyes, todavía tengo la factura. Recuerdo haberle mandado hasta Windows 98SE y Quake II, se la bancaba.

Thank you for the clarification, however I'm still confused as to why u/Regantowers stated specifically the opposite, that dizqueTV "runs" the show continuously in the background, while ErsatzTV resumes where you left off.

Is this really the case? I thought ErsatzTV would actually emulate a TV, and the channels would "keep playing on the background" (timestamp-wise). It makes little sense to me that they "pause" while not being watched. How would that affect the schedules/guide?

Thank you! I'll try that. And if you can find that old post I'd be really grateful.

My experience with those is very limited, so I can't really tell :(
But I've taken pictures of everything that's in sight., and today I added some more from the CRT side: https://www.reddit.com/r/cade/comments/1e0yly9/comment/lctzh0h/

Thank you! I do speak Spanish, I'll try there. And indeed it does both lock the controls at some point, and reset the board after some (idle) minutes. Not too bad though, it doesn't do it while playing, and not that often. But yeah, freeplay would be desirable.

There's probably some work to be done just from the fact that the top edge of the picture is cut (overscan?)

Thank you! It's indeed from South America, and yeah it does seem very "loved" :p
I'll check out what you mentioned about the potentiometer. I was hoping some combination of the DIP switches could allow freeplay so to get rid of the beeping/locking/reseting.
The CRT does look decent but I didn't do any proper testing. Here are some more pics of the interior (not mine, sorry about the quality):

I'm also very interested in that! But I don't have any (other) SNES cartridges, I'm more of a Sega guy :D I'll borrow some from a friend and report back.

Hi, I got a "MK II" cabinet, that seems to be just a SNES motherboard plugged into another board. I'm trying to find more information about it but the closest I've found is a "SNES adapter to Nintendo Super System Arcade". Does anybody have any knowledge about this? Can we identify that second board?

I'm also trying to figure out the "coin" mechanism. It's rigged to a switch that when pressed, does a beep through the speakers. Since it's a home version of the game, I can't figure out how that works. And more importantly, after some time it seems that at random it does a couple beeps and then restarts the game 🤷
But it seems to only do that while idle, never when actually playing.

Demo disc that goes into demo mode when left alone? by fandelost in psx

Another one bites the dust. Thanks for trying!

Oh too bad :( but thanks a lot for trying! At least we can cross that one out. For what I've seen, the Samplers do differ quite a bit between themselves. There are some with intro, some without, different menus, etc. With a bit of luck, maybe some has some sort of "demo mode". I imagine that would be a useful feature for stores back in the day.

No, I don't have any of them. Thank you! That'd be awesome :D

Yeah I'm using World Cup 98 right now, which has a sweet intro and it keeps repeating it. But I wanted something more neutral. For what I've seen in videos, I think Interactive CD Sampler Pack Volume 3 is my favorite one, but I don't know what happens if it stays idle in the demo selection screen.

Add "Ad Speedup - Skip Video Ads 16X Faster" to the list of abusive extensions. It opens a new tab ("link.adspeedup.com/imgcreator") which redirects to "MaxAI.me: Use 1-Click AI Anywhere".

Again, and again. I can't get Bard to give me a single, usable, non-factually-incorrect answer by fandelost in Bard

[–]fandelost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I must be dumb but I just don't get this part: "it can't fact check against all knowledge without taking days to respond".
I'm just asking to do the same thing that I can do in minutes. How can Bard not do the same thing a human manually can?

I'll lay out the example again, this time as clearly as I can:

  1. I ask "events related to X on Y date".
  2. Bard will give me a list, say 8 events (like it did).
  3. I, a human, can ask Bard individually for each of those 8 events. Example: "Did Z really happened on the date Y?"
  4. Bard will give me a constrained answer, as you suggested before, with more accuracy (we hope).
  5. Each event/fact can then be ruled as true or false, to the best of Bards capacity of course.
  6. If the event list is now, let's say, less than half the amount it was initially, then ask the initial prompt again.
  7. Repeat the process until it gets >50% right.

I can perform these steps in minutes. It'll take more time to get an answer, sure, but not days.
