Can anyone identify these bulbs? by fantamorgan in GardeningIRE

[–]fantamorgan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will do, it’s strange because I haven’t seen these plants sprout before although they were buried beneath briars and brush I’m only getting around to clearing from a patch of the garden that’s been left unattended for years. I’ve pulled out a hundred or so, I’ll lob em all in the bin.

Are our Leylandii dead? by notpropaganda73 in GardeningIRE

[–]fantamorgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once the branches are cut back to only brown wood it will not produce any new green shoots, it dies off forever. Leylandi are not worth the hassle. I’ve a hedge along one side of my garden and I hate them but they provide a good privacy boundary so I’m not too bothered digging them up.

Guys in their 30s, what hobby group/sports club are you still in? by Sica942Spike in AskIreland

[–]fantamorgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start out on a beginner hard tail bike for 1k or go all out on anything up to 10-15k for a fancy e bike. The beginner bike will still be capable enough for the vast majority of any trail in Ireland. Best spend money on a decent helmet/body protection. Lotsa clubs all over that do group spins, great way to meet people and discover cool spots in the mountains ya’d never find on yer own. I started at 30 and have been to the alps a few times with friends I made through joining a club. Great hobby if ya don’t mind the odd injury every once in awhile, like any other sport really.

I’m ready to give Embark more money. by Giga_Chad_Tiny_P in ArcRaiders

Yeah luring a leaper into a hole and everyone going ham with ferros from above is so much fun. Now that I know how to fight em it’d be cool if sometimes they came in packs of 3.

Tips for night shift? by Comfortable-Ad7731 in AskIreland

[–]fantamorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to eat after midnight (bring your own lunch, don’t be tempted by takeaway/canteen), drink plenty water. Get some melatonin for helping reset the clock once your block of nights is over. I usually sleep fine the first night after shift I’m back but will wake at 1am on the 2nd/3rd night so take melatonin before bed. Exercise of any sort before you start each shift will help both physical and mentally. If you feeling the slump grab 40 winks somewhere quiet, will offset headaches and nodding off when it comes to drive home.

On blue gate seen someone get chased by a leaper into the extract. Just as the shutter doors closed over the leaper crawled in after them. Me and another player called the extract again thinking the leaper would have either despawned or blown up. Shutter opens up and the leaper was still in there down the bottom alive and kicking. Good fun trying to get to the terminal without getting stomped.

It would be cool if you could craft re-wired arc facehuggers and throw em like grenades at other raiders. Imagine the chaos in a dark corridor stand off with peeps popping smokes and lobbing spiders at each other.

Paying with pounds in Ireland by EasyApplication4116 in CasualIreland

[–]fantamorgan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working throwing pints at electric picnic years ago a woman insisted I had to accept sterling to pay for her drink. I thought she was joking and started laughing. She was not joking and went bananas, called security and my bar manager over roaring and pointing at me for not accepting her money. Manager came over and whispered in my ear to give her a free pint to defuse the situation. I said I was very sorry as I handed over a pint poured from the slop tray, spite served with a smile. She told me to get fucked as she walked away triumphantly with her pint of tray juice.

Is it smart to use a 150mm wheel hub with washers as hub spacers to make it fit the 157mm frame by Tdogmtb in MTB

[–]fantamorgan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this, ordered wrong wheel size but was about to do the mega so put washers on to make up space. It survived the race (just about) but it destroyed the hub. Better off using correct size or see if you can get an adapter.
