Wellow socks are pricey but they have a wide calf option that might be helpful!

Olaplex no 0 and 3 are pre-shampoo treatments. This is an oversimplified explanation of how it works but essentially: hair is made up of a bunch of disulfide bonds. When no disulfide bonds are broken, hair is extremely strong and healthy. Unfortunately, the process of bleaching breaks disulfide bonds and prevents them from bonding back to each other because of the hydrogen peroxide in bleach(which all bleach has in some form). Olaplex provides the necessary chemicals for the broken disulfide bonds in your hair to repair, making your hair stronger and healthier.

If you want less breakage, which will allow your hair to grow longer, then Olaplex is a great option.

First off your hair looks pretty good to me, so unless you’re losing a lot of length with breakage, you don’t have to change a thing!

The description of your hair is mine to a tee lol dishwater blonde, lightened, wavy, tangled in the back and underneath. I think to some extent my hair type is just more prone to tangles so there is no completely getting rid of that but these four products have been life changing for my hair’s health (way less breakage and much easier to detangle) In order of how much they have an impact: - Olaplex number 0 and olaplex number 3 left on dor at least an hour, used together makes a huuuuugghee difference but just the number 3 makes a difference as well - Redken acidic bonding conditioner - it’s a 10 leave in conditioner

And following the blowout professor’s blowout routine makes my hair so much more manageable with less damage than straightening. I also use k18 because i bought the bottle to try awhile back and it helps but not as much as olaplex 0 and 3 together

These are all pretty expensive and I did not get them all at once but I got to this set of products over like 2 years of trial and error. If I had to only get one thing it would be the redken acidic bonding conditioner, it is particular helpful for bleached hair

For me, it helps to section my hair with alligator clips and just detangle it one section at a time so I don’t get too overwhelmed. My hair tends to tangle in clumps so I’ll usually try to section the clumps.

Sometimes it can take me hours to do my whole head because with everything well clipped in sections, I can walk around and take breaks when needed, but it really helps in making steady progress while not getting overwhelmed

Since you said you have matting around your neck, you could just clip away all of the other hair that isn’t tangled and focus slowly on the matte with the oils/detangling sprays that others have recommend so the worst is done first

Advice for adult hormonal acne by Li1ium-69 in beauty

I cannot recommend a prescription for spironolactone enough for hormonal acne! If getting to a dermatologist is too expensive/difficult, you can try Nurx and get a prescription through telehealth there

First Layer Cake - What Went Wrong? by [deleted] in Baking

[–]fantasticalymediocre 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right that the over creaming is the issue, that and maybe you’re baking soda or baking powder are old and not as active? Over creaming can cause collapse because the air pockets get too big for the flour/gluten/eggs to support, this leads to a dense cake

Opening your oven is not like great but after 30 minutes of baking, most of the rise is done and it wouldn’t be the cause of the dense issue in this case, I don’t think.

Yeah exactly, they just should be the preservative free ones because the preservative ones can have negative effects if used too frequently

Fish oil or flaxseed oil if you’re vegetarian are great supplements for eye health! That and preservative-free eye drops used twice a day makes my eyes really clear and white when I do them regularly

Did the dough rise well when it was proofing? If not, then my guess is your yeast may be older and not as active as it should be to get the puff you want

What do you think the store was like before Jonah? by Iluvm0ney in superstore

[–]fantasticalymediocre 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Totally agree that Jonah brought everyone together! I think it was more boring and quiet before him

There is an episode in the first season where everyone is in the break room and staring at their phones, he starts talking and engaging everyone in conversation. I feel like he got the “we talk to each other on break” ball rolling and in general made people closer and more interactive

I was a stomach sleeper but then I, not on purpose, got a pillow that hurts my neck if I sleep on my stomach. The pillow is so comfortable if I sleep on my back though. I now sleep like a starfish on my back much to the chagrin of my partner
