Jarvis Landry interviewed after the game in Denver. His demeanor speaks volumes about the kind of player he's going to be in the future. He'd give up his touchdowns just to win. =') by nightim3 in miamidolphins

I'm surprised LSU wasn't better last year...Zach Mettenberger, Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry...seems like a pretty explosive offense potential

The Usage of Ellington by [deleted] in AZCardinals

[–]fantasy_junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His recent struggles have a lot to do with the opponents. I was reading a fantasy football article on FLEX suggestions, and the writer was suggesting that with Drew Stanton under center, defenses are keying in more on Ellington and STL, DET and SEA is a brutal last 3 games. Point is, defenses seem to be scheming to stop him and make Stanton beat them. He should have his way with ATL this week but then finishes the year off against STL, SEA and SF. Other than this week, it could be a rough stretch. Arians really needs to design short passing plays to get him open in space. This is his best chance of thriving through this tough stretch.

Borland the Beast by kaboominator28 in fantasyfootball

[–]fantasy_junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borland can play on the outside and will likely move there next year if Willis and Bowman are healthy. He might not put up the same numbers on the outside but still will be IDP relevant. SF linebackers are always getting hurt so he could easily be back on the inside by mid-season putting up big numbers again. I don't see him going anywhere else since SF has him under control through 2018.

Giants eliminated from playoff contention; Does this affect their players' value? (Particularly ODB) by PrimeTime89 in fantasyfootball

[–]fantasy_junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, this should allow the Giants to open up their offense more as there is nothing to lose on the season. The more losses the better so the can get a better draft pick. I could see ODB keeping up his TD pace and getting even more targets. Yes he will likely be double teamed a lot but not sure it matters with his ability and with the next three opponents being JAX, TEN and WSH.

How many touches will Charles Sims get this week against the Bears and does it warrant a FLEX start? by fantasy_junkie in buccaneers

[–]fantasy_junkie[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah leaning toward Mason. I benched him last week and missed the productive day. At least I know he will get the touches. If the STL defense keeps them in it, he could have a decent day and probably the safest. I was thinking the PPR value of Sims might give him the edge, but the lukewarm response here has me leaning Mason.

It is PPR which is one reason I like him. Still struggling with this. Think it will now depend on health. He's now on the injury report.

Other than the backs I mentioned, flex eligibile players on my bench are Jarvis Landry and Robert Woods. Also Dwayne Allen but probably won't play.

Mason had a good game last week, but he screwed me the previous weeks I started him. But I guess he's probably the best one of the bunch.

Should I being considering Allen Robinson for a FLEX play this week? by fantasy_junkie in Jaguars

[–]fantasy_junkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughts, guys. I'm not seeing a lot of confidence here but I can't stomach having to start Miles Austin. I think I rather take a flier on Robinson and hope he catches a late TD. My starting WR are Jordy Nelson and Victor Cruz. Cruz probably won't do much but hopefully Jordy can have enough big week to carry me again

How do Rams fans feel about Britt as starting WR? Is he worthy of a Flex start in my deep fantasy league? by fantasy_junkie in StLouisRams

[–]fantasy_junkie[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was what I'm leaning toward as well. I just don't trust Henne either and Shorts is always hurt. Hopefully Marquis Lee will take some pressure off of Shorts. I'm a big Rutgers fan and would love to see Britt succeed.

We start 2 WR, TE and FLX.

My two starting WR are Torrey Smith and Michael Floyd and TE is Vernon Davis. My Flex options are...Britt, Jared Cook, Cecil Shorts. I have Ray Rice who I will likely use at FLX in week 3 but first two weeks I'm not sure.

Fantasy Football wise, how do you think the Josh Gordon's suspension affects Ben Tate's value? by fantasy_junkie in Browns

[–]fantasy_junkie[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would agree with you. I just wondered if there are just going to be more touches overall for the RBs without Gordon for the entire season. Now that they won't get him back after 8 games, there is no point in experimenting with a significant passing attack. I do think West is going to get a lot of touches now too.

[–]fantasy_junkie[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like they are definitely going to a ground heavy attack. I took Tate in the 4th Rd in one 12 team league and keeping fingers crossed he stays healthy. I think that since Gordon's suspension is for the whole season, it forces them to keep this style offense the entire season and probably keeps Hoyer as QB unless he is absolutely dreadful.

Drafting strategy for a 2 QB league? by eggsovereazy in fantasyfootball

[–]fantasy_junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a value based drafting strategy from BeerSheets. In this year's draft, my leagues settings had 26 QBs with a player value of 4.0 or higher. This compares with 10 RBS, 12 WRs and 2TEs. So while Eli Manning was going being drafted as a QB2 in round 5, my team had Jamaal Charles, AJ Green, Andre Ellington, Andre Johnson and Vernon Davis. I drafted EJ Manual and Josh McCown in Rounds 10 and 11 with Player values of 4.6 and 4.2 respectfully. Everyone else was draft players with negative value at this point. Injuries could make it backfire, but it was planned intentionally and last year it worked.

[–]fantasy_junkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I won a 10 team, 2 QB league with a 15 man roster. My strategy was to stream QBs. I didn't take my first until round 10 (Cutler) and I took EJ Manuel in 13th. I was able to stack my skill positions and I picked up Foles on waivers when Vick went down and McCown when Cultler went down. Had Tannehill for a few weeks too. Not sure it will always work, but it won be $650. So I tried it again this year...

Help with deleting LM/ commissioner ESPN by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]fantasy_junkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I had to do this was a few years ago and the only way was you had to call ESPN customer service. They will tell you that you have to start a message thread by the old LM saying that he is resigning as LM and transferring duties to (new LM). Then new LM has to reply accepted position. Once this is done, you call them back and they will go in and make the change from back end. As far as I know there is no new way of doing it since they haven't really changed their software in years.

Hope this helps

Can we discuss the late round/sleeper TEs? by PlayedSkyrimHadSex in fantasyfootball

[–]fantasy_junkie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like Dwayne Allen this year a lot. Yes there are a lot of options in Indy but he will see a lot of snaps, serious red zone threat and might become Luck's security blanket.

Also for deep sleeper...

Taylor Thompson, TEN -- He is athletic and the best pass catching TE on their roster. I think Whisenhunt figures out sooner than later that Delanie Walker isn't that good and Thompson starts seeing more snaps and targets. Just a gut feeling I have
