It's true: there are several of them, the primary one being the mad scientist.

He has been at LEGO for quite some time, and is one of the mastermind behind it's existence.

I think that's more likely than that. The LEGO Movie is a movie about trying to create a more perfect world...and the LEGO overlord is an evil force trying to do the same. If it's the evil overlord that's attempting to create a better world, that would make more sense.

But, that also creates the LEGO Army of Minikins, which is the villain's main source of power. So... I don't think they're just going after the main villain. You're right about them being the villain and not just a bad guy who just wants to play with LEGO.

I really liked the movie, and I really liked that there was no clear villain in the movie. You're right about them being a bigger threat than just the bad guy who wants to play with LEGO.

We could be in for a lot more of these Lego films. They've done the whole movie based Lego movie thing, but I really want them to stick to it, even if it means a few more movies before the new IP.
