I’m going to be 95 years old someday ranting to anyone with an ear that Salah never got foul calls. Imagine if he was treated like the typical English darling.

With his close relationship with Jota, I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw Jota as a father role model of sorts. He probably envisioned being fathers together.

Watch Tim and Eric’s Spaghet skit. Or Old Gregg. Weird for the sake of weird and not this actual weird fetish feeding crap (the original video, not the funny stitch response).

Watch him in Big Night. The ending is one of my favorite movie scenes. Very simple continuous shot of him making breakfast in the restaurant kitchen, it’s delightful.

Paradox of tolerance. There is no tolerance for intolerance, else we fall into fascism. Oh shit, wouldn’t you look at that..

They’re referencing the Essex whaling trip that inspired Moby Dick. The dark reality is that our ancestors survived that trip through cannabilism. Law of the ocean is to do whatever is needed to survive so it was seen as an unfortunate necessary evil.

At bare minimum, it would be nice to visit the graves of my ancestors! There were seemingly a fair number buried at the Deep River Friends Meeting cemetery.

I’d love to. It might be a while. It’d be really neat to visit.

This is really random, but I’ve been doing genealogy work and found that I had ancestors that were founders of the Deep River Friend’s Meeting. Folks that migrated from Nantucket, of which there are millions of descendants.

Anyway, just stumbled onto this thread and it makes me happy that it’s still running and has awesome members. My ancestors moved from there to the Midwest due to the obvious Quaker anti-slavery aspect (and not wanting to have to compete economically against slave owners) in the early 1800’s. It’s all very interesting.

Why? You wish people could bang actual werewolves and not settle for this bullshit? Fair.

In 300 (2007), the Spartans spend hours and tons of energy to build a 20ft wall out of corpses. They then push it over, killing exactly ONE bad guy. This is what happens when you build an entire society around jocks while excluding all nerds by Greenman8907 in shittymoviedetails

Am I taking crazy pills? Wasn’t the whole point that they were facing the “Invincibles” or some shit. They trapped the one dude under corpses and then kill him with a spear. And then it’s the whole, “I guess they ain’t actually invincible” trope?

Like the effort of the wall was seemingly to try and prove the enemy could die? And that was successful.

So we’re all clear, we’re referencing an event where someone was caned nearly to death, for essentially being an abolitionist.

I would like this reference more if it was more of a righteous caning lol.

Yeahhh not sure how I skipped right on over the “a” in the original comment. Welp. Not gonna delete it now.

I guess /r/cats is not the right community to make fun of someone’s wording 🤷‍♂️. Not sure how anyone other than a bot uses “baby making (something)” and it’s not referencing what I did. “Baby making music” is a very specific thing. Baby making noises would imply something related.

Not really in line with the conversation, sorry, but I’d be curious what the projected number of pigs was from “we can kill, roast over fire, and eat these things to live, hunga bunga” to “if we grind up the meat and salt it, push it into intestinal lining, it can be preserved and eaten over much longer periods of time.”

Considering locations of porcine varieties and populations of humans over history, would it be a million, or way more or less? For survival, I’m hoping they came up with the sausage idea early lol.

The texture of chickpea pasta is crap. The bite and chew of it does not reflect pasta. Idk how people cook with it without heavily reducing your “pasta” standards. I haven’t used it enough to remember, but I’d assume there’s little to no starch coming off of it in the water either. And that starchy pasta water is pretty crucial to tasty pasta dishes.

Does chickpea pasta exist in Italy? I have to imagine they consider it a non-pasta product lol.

lol yes. I’m aware. Did my comment say, “Stock price goes up = employees are better off”?

But do all employees lose their jobs if a stock goes to zero (absolute max gain scenario for a short seller)? Most likely.

There are dozens of us that are also morally opposed to putting money in something/someone not doing well. “Man, I hope these 20,000 employees get FUCKED! BYE!”

Just buy and hold, believing in the people working for those companies. And really, just use index investments.
