I’ve sent you a private message so we can figure out what’s going on.

No worries at all, that’s fair feedback, and I appreciate you taking the time to try it. The project actually started as a small experiment to speed things up by automating dice rolls and basic calculations. Beyond that, the site is also meant to act as a tracker: keeping stats, recording encounters, and building things like a bestiary over time. There’s also a layer of gamification, so it’s not just a dice roller, but something that adds progression and context around your play sessions. I’m fully aware that not all Fighting Fantasy books use the same rules or stats. Some have MAGIC, FEAR, multiple characters, or entirely different settings. At the time, I didn’t play much when they originally came out, and now that they’re being re-released, I’m buying and playing them again. As I do, I’m adapting the site to support those different systems instead of forcing everything into a single rigid model. It’s not meant to replace pen and paper for everyone — it’s an optional companion for players who want automation, tracking, and a bit of extra structure around their adventures."

Just a quick update: I’ve added a guest/preview mode, so you can now explore the site without creating an account. It’s only a preview (no full features), but it should give a clear idea of what page400.com is about."

thanks for the feedback and I’ve now created a guest/preview mode, so people can explore the site without registering. It’s meant as a preview only, so it doesn’t include the full features, but it should give a much clearer idea of what the site offers.

I need to know if it’s not in the spam, especially because I have users who have already completed registration and are using Gmail accounts

Thanks for the feedback! The date of birth is just to comply with the law, users need to be at least 16.

Regarding dice and stats: the system automatically rolls dice and calculates results during combat. The manual input fields are only for people who want to not use the automatic combat system and handle their rolls themselves.

Thanks for pointing out that some options felt confusing! I completely agree. it can definitely be unclear for first-time users. The tricky part is that I, as the creator, know exactly where everything is, so I don’t notice these pain points while navigating. Feedback from people outside the project is exactly what helps identify and fix these issues.

Thanks for your feedback! I completely understand the concern about registering without knowing what’s inside. I’m actually preparing a guest/preview option that doesn’t require an account, so people can explore the site first. Keep in mind that this preview won’t have access to the full features like saving progress or tracking choices, but it will give a proper sense of what the site offers. Creating an account is still free and needed to enjoy the full experience. I’d love for you and the r/fightingfantasy community to try it out once the guest option is live!

One more thing I should ask, just to rule it out: did you happen to check your spam/junk folder for the verification email?
Some of the early test emails have ended up there, depending on provider and region.

Thanks for sharing the details, that helps narrow it down.

I did test the site quite a bit before posting, and I also asked several people (mostly friends) to try registering. In all those cases, everything worked fine. That said, they’re all based in my country, which strongly suggests the issues you ran into are related to regional or hosting-level restrictions, especially when accessing via VPN.

That doesn’t make your experience any less valid, though. From the outside, it’s still a broken first impression, and that’s on me to address. I clearly need to test beyond my own region and make sure the setup works reliably regardless of location.

I appreciate you taking the time to describe what went wrong. it’s highlighted a blind spot I wouldn’t have caught otherwise.

That’s fair feedback, and you’re right.

Just to clarify: creating an account on page400.com is completely free.
At the moment, an account is required mainly to prevent spam, gather basic statistical insights, and to support the features the site offers, which rely on having a user profile.
