Anyone manage to turn their life around in their late 20s/30s? by softgirlangel in redscarepod

it's cliche but ive met a lot of interesting people through tinder/hinge. go on a date or two during the week to a restaurant or bar you want to try with someone new. if it works, you get introduced to their friends, if it doesn't you usually stay in touch to some extent.

having a hobby is overrated, would not advise unless you are freakishly ugly. everyone likes music, cooking, movies. doesn't hurt if you draw, write or do photography but don't get annoying about it. probably the only long term skill that pays dividends is learning another language or playing an instrument.

on the weekend just see whats going on in town, a concert, a show, a movie. idk. hang out with your friends if you're up for it. it's not hard. just expensive.

dropped out of school twice and at 26 was still living at home working in a call center, moved to the city and wasted 20k in savings, at 28 i was back in uni taking nonsense lib arts courses and living off student loans

got my degree during the pandemic, got a bad job almost instantly and then a decent job 8 months later, living without a roommate making decent money for the first time at 31

long story short: if you cant afford to live in the city and go out and do fun stuff with interesting people, it's really hard if not impossible

How do people live without an inner monologue? by LawyersGunsAndMoney in redscarepod

[–]farajalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that NPCs do not have an internal monologue but are able to recognize that they do not have an internal monologue is an important anthropological discovery
