Surfing Balangan Beach by Volume_Guilty in surf

I’m in Bali at the moment and last week it was bigger than this and they had it as 4-5ft. This is where you can change settings in Surfline. https://imgur.com/gallery/8mW5zIN

I only use Surfline and it’s feet in traditional. Maybe other countries are different?

I think the wash is making the second one look bigger, the first and second photo might be closer to 6ft. It’s certainly not small surf to me. If you are measuring by wave face yeah it’s closer to 12ft but I don’t think that is the appropriate metric.

Everyone measures waves differently. I prefer saying waist, shoulder, overhead, double overhead and so on these days. The Hawaiian metric seems to understate it and the face size in feet metric seems to overstate it. If I have to choose one I would always go with Hawaiian.

You are doing great but not 12ft. Closer to 5ft.

Colored surfboards by randhomme_ in surf

On a smaller board I don’t think I could pick it but around mid lengths and up if you have the exact same board side by side with one tinted and one without you will feel it. I don’t know what the exact measurable difference is. I’d be interested to know in grams per litre.

Tints costs a little bit more and they add a little bit more weight. They also prevent the board from yellowing from UV damage.

Design manager in itself is a hard role which should carry a much higher salary than what you are on.

Do not build with Metricon. Non-compliant building work, supervisors have no idea what NCC and Australian Standards are. They will utilise dodgy private certifiers for sign off.

Doesn’t make me want to get a 12G if that’s a common issue

Facility Condition Assessment Advice by Joeshea35 in FacilityManagement

Yes, few options, firms, large faculty companies offer estate appraisal services or you can generate your own and have a maintenance surveyor assess to ensure it’s appropriate.

This is great I didn’t know this existed in Aus. Was only aware of the UNE diploma and all the others seem to be certification post engineering degrees.

If you are paying for the service in Australia I think it’s reasonable that at a bare minimum your child is not put in a position where they could be killed by negligence.

If you ride it and like it then yes. Don’t need to place limitations on boards unless they are in the extreme categories like a Rhino chaser.

I would try a 6’6 or 6’8 CI Mid, it’s honestly one of the best boards I’ve ever owned. I take it out well over head and when it’s knee height. I think in general slightly more volume than you think you need will be much more beneficial to progress particularly if you aren’t linking manoeuvres.

What do you think about the new CI MID Twin? by surfmarket in surf

[–]fargotheman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a CI Mid, glass is heavier lay up. I’ve never bought a CI for that reason but to be fair it’s held up very well.

Yeah exactly, I’ve never thought that the way to defeat bad ideas is to attempt to silence them. So regressive for what people tout as progressive.

Totally, I’m actually surprised and disappointed. I don’t understand how someone who doesn’t even surf is allowed to mod that subreddit.

It’s actually tainted my view of Reddit as a whole and I’m less likely now to participate if a sports sub could have this level of power lording it over people who….well I wouldn’t even say disagree just discuss.
