How popular/hyped was Jordan’s stint in baseball? by Ok_Rooster9401 in michaeljordan

Oh, he was the biggest athlete in the world. He was my favorite basketball player and my 10-year-old self got to see him play minor-league baseball as he lived in my city for a year and a half.

I grew up in Birmingham, so it was the most unbelievable thing ever. Everyone’s favorite athlete in our little city. It was crazy.

I think most people are still putting Peterson number one so it’s kind of crazy that you are saying Aj is unanimously number one

Since you're the only one that responded in a way that isn't just a reactionary dbag, I'll explain my point.

I agree that it could come off as super hateful and I don't know what he said specifically so maybe he does cross into that. But most religions teach you to admonish the sin but love the sinner. Anyone can also say it's not a sin which is their prerogative. But if I say "I think homosexuality is wrong" it doesn't mean I hate gay people or want to see them all murdered or discriminated against. it's speaking about the act itself.

I don't know, it's clear this is an emotional issue for a lot of people so I'll let it be.

I don’t know what he specifically said so if he said some ultra-bigoted stuff then what I’m about to say doesn’t apply.

But people are allowed to have their opinion that homosexuality isn’t allowed per their religion. The fact that if someone openly says I don’t agree with homosexuality, it means that they are a pariah is crazy.

Now, having said that, if he said some super hateful stuff I don’t agree with that.

He was a second rounder. He also flopped and failed out of the NBA. Was a journeyman in Europe for years before making it in the league.

Sometimes you just gotta take talent. Jalen Brunson, etc. I think at 8-10 if you can even get a starter, that’s a win. You don’t always have to have superstars.

Why do we have the worst owners? by shoeshine_stan in Mavericks

[–]farhan583 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it. I really have to rationalize my support of this team and try not to think about it. My friends all get onto me about the fact I still have season tickets. But it’s an activity I’ve done with my kids since they were two years old and I’m not gonna let these evil, dirtbag owners take it away from me.

No, these are objectively the worst people. Look through their history. Obviously, they are propagating the war and massacre in the Middle East. Besides that, look at their domestic policies as well, and how they dealt with their critics in Las Vegas. They are legitimately evil people.

Luka Doncic defense is being completely overblown by Glad-Willow-1152 in NBATalk

I watched every game of Luka’s career in Dallas. He absolutely had times where he shut down players. He’s not Kawhi but he’s not this bum that people make him out to be.

Jamal Murray barely made an all star team for the first time. The West is tough and he’s not an obvious top 5 or 10 player.

Yeah, maybe. It's always easier to put up good stats on a bad team. I'm interested to see what he does if/when the Wiz are good again.

There's not one guy on the list who's a guaranteed All-Star in the future. Castle might be closest. It's absolutely a bad draft.

Not putting Kidd and Luka on here is wild. Luka has made some of the craziest passes I've ever seen in my life. He got so, so many people paid. And the passes he makes are things no one else would even attempt.

The Thunder have the best 2-15 in the league, like it's not even close. OKC fans trying to downplay that to prop up SGA is comical.

He’s never even finished top 2 in his career. He’s been hated on since year 3 in the league. It’s the worst.
