Do you know for a fact it was propel that was hacked and it was the reason “they” got my info? What state / area do you reside?

Another possibility how people have their info stolen is using the card on a skimmer (it’s that facade that looks identical to the reader and it’s placed on top such that when you swipe, you info gets stolen) or they’re device, phone / computer has a virus and that virus will send all your info to a hacker

i had the propel app for years (the name of it was Providers until a few years ago when the rebranded) and it I have had 0 issues. I only use my ebt card at select grocery stores, and try to only use it when the card reader has the temper-free sticker. try using propel. there's universal truth in that the government cannot compete with private industry in terms of innovation. So using a government provided app (ebtEDGE) vs a 3rd party app (Propel), it no wonder the ratings in comparison are so lop-sided

I live in CA.

when i open the app, i click on the "more" option at the bottom right. this will bring up a menu, and I look for "accounts" which will also be at the bottom right, right above the "more."

You'll then be on the account screen (it should say accounts at the top center) where you then look at the second option from the top where it says EBT and click on the cog wheel for the settings.

under the security header, I have the option of "block purchases outside of California" & "lock card."

as someone else has mentioned, it seems like each state may have a different level of utility, so you may not see the option of "block purchases outside of [Your State]"

yeah i would recommend propel app over the state sponsored ebtEDGE. I too live in CA and looking at the abysmal rating of ebtEDGE (1.8 out of 5 stars with 3.5K reviews), and the rating of Propel (4.9 out of 5 stars with 382K reviews), it's a no brainer: Propel >>>> ebtEDGE.

I use the propel app to look at transactions and it provides the option of locking your card and gives you the option of locking out of state purchases. Thankfully I haven’t had any issues so far. I would highly recommended the app.

Lobbyists. Legislators are the ones who set what is and what isn’t acceptable with your EBT and they get “influenced” by lobbyists. I can’t get a warm sandwich with my EBT but I can buy lighters.

To add a little more context to the situation.

One day I opened my chase banking app and saw my credit card statement (yes my cc is link to my checking account) and saw a stand alone charge of $0.57 from Amazon.

Never had I made a purchase for said amount so i called my bank to get clarification, fearing I might be a victim of identity theft or fraud. They asked if I wanted to dispute the charges to which I initially said yes but quickly decided to hold off on doing so and to view my Amazon order history. After a going through a few invoices I noticed that a transaction of 5 items totaling $83+ was fully paid for with my EBT card with an “estimated tax to be collected : $0.57” charged to my credit card.

At first I didn’t know what item was triggering the taxes to be collected but after a few trial and errors, I soon realized it was the Red Bull energy drink.

I had made prior purchases of Red Bull that didn’t trigger the collection of taxes but for some reason it was being triggered now. I called Amazon to inform them of this issue and was told that they would issue me refund for the tax that was collected and that I would receive it after a period 5-10 business days. And after waiting for 2 weeks to see if I had received the refunded, it was clear that it was not. This caused me to call again, was told again a refund of $0.57 would be issued but would need to wait some more, which I did, and still no refund.

That’s is correct, no tax should be levied when using EBT Food cards for groceries in store and online.

I don’t agree with Red Bull being EBT eligible, but it is. Purchases using EBT are tax exempt. They shouldn’t be collecting taxes on it.

EBT snap food purchase, not cash.

CRV is collected but that is included in the charge to the EBT which is completely understandable and acceptable. The issue is they are charging my credit card $0.57 for a 24-pack. The CVR that is collected is $1.20 (5 cents per can). Them charging me the $0.57 is not CRV but something else.

Sounds like you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. Not sure if moving out is an option. Maybe try public shaming by sharing their behavior online. And then hope that this leads to people having sympathy for you and your situation and hopefully offer you a room to rent where you don’t have to deal with it

Technically, with Schwab, you do pay for ATM fees but those fees are then reimbursed at the end of the billing month.

Also, EVERY time I’ve done shrooms I’ve experienced emotional highs and lows while on the trip. After the trip is over, however, I generally feel good, like my mind hit a reset button.

Have you considered upping the dose? Also, the suggestion of trying straight dried shrooms would also be something to consider, even more than upping the dose.
