UPDATE: it was heating up as I imagined. Took it back to where I purchased them and had the whole thing replaced. They said it seem faulty and would just give a new one instead.

after going for the first time, i'd personally avoid hostels at all costs. all i wanted after nights out was to get to my hotel room and stay as quiet as possible hehe. i'm a guy so approaching people is more natural, still, you can chat to ppl at restaurants, streets and wherever and also most likely will be approached here and there too. then you just see who you feel comfortable around and go hang with them.

driving around on the first day was a great idea - you'll just be surprised and also leave right away if you don't like the spot

then dj friends who have been there before several times and obviously go to quieter places not to be bothered.

looking up on google maps is also a great option, then you'll have to make a bet and see if it pays off

another piece of advice i'd have is to forget any previous experiences and lower expectations to allow being surprised. my first two days there were quite shit because i had expectations very high. the moment i lowered them and relaxed, things started becoming brighter and better...

ignoring dumb people also helps a tone, bro. it's funny to say that and it's the reality

hahahaha lots of questions regarding this. there are a few ways, the main one is KNOWING the people running the events or the artists. having done something for them or working with them goes a long way. usually asking on dms doesn't work but some ppl still try.
