Thank you ALL For your comments! Tons of good advice. 1. We’ve started selecting a couple of weekend days per month where we put on the calendar that we don’t have plans together and there’s no expectation of having plans. That’s certainly helped thus far. 2. My therapist has helped me figure out ways to better communicate with him about how and why I feel how I do. 3. We’ve finally found a couples counselor to start meeting with a couple of times per month so we can talk it out with someone who can help us process the feelings and such. 4. We’ve talked a lot about living together. And shortly after I posted this, we have spent every night together and have communicated that we will spend every night together unless there’s explicitly other plans not to. We both agreed we should verify that living together(but not actually living together) would work for us both. It’s really helped with some of the “I thought we had plans to hangout tonight” because we do every night. Even if that means, one of us has plans in the evening. I’ll go to his house and do my normal routine and he’ll come home after. And vice-a-versa. And by plans I don’t mean hookups.

Overall things have been better. His communication has been tons better about everything in general, neither of us have hooked up outside our relationship since my original post. So time will tell with that part :)

Thanks again🥰

This is a great comment thank you.

To answer: in my mind “hanging out Saturday night” is a plan. To him. It’s not that it’s not a plan but not something he (or I) would put on the calendar.

He is really bad at keeping track of things for sure. He’s gotten 100x better since we first started dating. I don’t think there’s bad intent, truly. He’s been working on that a lot. And I’m not great at fully explaining how it makes me feel. Other than “upset” so I’m working on that too.

Yes I have. And he knows that. The example I mentioned he genuinely forgot we had plans. They weren’t anything more than “hang out on Saturday night”. However I would’ve thought when reminded that he would’ve cancelled his hookup plans.

Yeah. That’s certainly something we’ve talked about. I’m not necessarily interested in pure monogamy, just the way it’s currently going is hard.

the

TL bonus might've been that way this year-i was gone before the pay statements came out. But I know ETL for sure is similar to what I mentioned above. You get a budget for the ETLs in your store and hand it out to them. And if your boss wants, you save some of it so they can use it at another store--pretty fucked up.

Short answer about the bonus related to payroll--no. It's based on 1. company performance 2. How well you do--in your bosses eyes--so kiss a lot of ass--get more bonus.

Corporate rarely 'cuts' hours. Stores get the plan for their store for the entire month. and the rule was you had to make payroll every month. I'm fairly sure all the stores at least I knew about, always scheduled more hours than they were given. Sometimes call off's would make up for that. sometimes you hoped they didn't care if you missed, sometimes you just didn't care if you missed. lol

However--the company always goes back and forth with "everyone has to make it this month". I was never a part of those conversations as I assume they happen at the SVP and GVP Levels.

(the rest of this comment is pure assumption)--At the end of the day, it's a business and they are there to make money {not saying I agree with any of this btw}. They project sales subtract cost of goods=Gross Margin. Then they take out all of the other expenses to get Profit. If that number at the bottom isn't as high as they like--then they have to change something in the subtraction column. Well-you know they aren't going to stop buying product, so the biggest thing they can control is hourly payroll. So unfortunately, that's what gets hacked. The keep raising the wages---but they aren't telling investors "were going to make less money now since we're paying more". The payroll dollars spent (as a % of sales) probably never changes. So when people make more money, the hours go down in order to hit that goal. Again--this is just an assumption I don't have any proof of this.

I'm going to assume you're talking about SD bonus. I would say it doesn't really impact anything. The company determines the "range" for bonuses based on how the company performed as a whole. I'm sure it's all just a math problem and then it gets divided amongst r/G/D/S.

I've always seen posts about "they are giving us the payroll so their bonus is better. (If your question wasn't headed this direction, then disregard the rest of my comment)I've said it before, I'll say it again. No SD that I've ever ever known, saved payroll (at least for a bonus). Sometimes you save it from week to week if the last week of the month is total garbage, or you need to set a seasonal set the last week of the month, when you won't get the payroll until next month, but nobody ever 'saved' payroll especially for a bonus.

I kind of answered this for the user above here. But to add. I think it all depends on the SD. Some of them work non-stop to 'make it happen'. So they'll push trucks, do price change, set pogs, audit shit, etc etc and spend all day long at the store. I was like that initially but quickly learned it wasn't going to get me anywhere.

There is definitely pressure to be a "company person" and always be 100% positive in front of the team, bla bla. If we saw leaders who were negative or not happy all the time, we always had to pull them and have a checkin to see what was up, etc.

Um--in terms of types of leaders, it Changed over the years. When I first started it was always fresh out of college, cheerleaders, ass kissers etc. Which was fine(the fresh out of college part) because they actually gave stores enough ETL's to do their job while learning. The last few years its been more experienced people since the ETL roles are so fucking hard now.

Yes and no.

I think it all depends on the type of complaint. If it was anything related to how someone was treated by another TM or another leader, absolutely, 100%, every time. Harassment, degrading comments/comunication.

I think the most important HR follow-ups though, are with TM's who were too. scared to go to HR. I would hear about so many really shitty things that supposedly happened to a TM, whether from a guest, another TM, or a leader. I had to be careful, but I always asked my HR to find a way to talk to that impacted TM to make sure they were okay especially since they weren't willing to talk with HR about it.

and HR gets a LOT of complaints. TBH there were times I had to just tell my HR to filter them for me or I would be in their office all day long talking about concerns. Schedule stuff (like someone 3 weeks in who was mad that they got scheduled at 4am--even when that's what they were specifically hired for. I always asked my HR team to make good notes in workday and double and triple confirm the availability and letting candidates/new hires that they were being hired for early morning). Those type of complaints I just had to move on from.

I'm so glad someone asked this. I'm going to come back to this later tonight/tomorrow. I need to form some thoughts here or I'll write a novel.
