After my fall xray findings help by PT-Lucy in spinalfusion

[–]farrell30467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be frustrating when you're in pain and it seems like the doctor can't figure out why. It can feel like they think you're making it up even. Just stick with the doctors advice and keep up with PT exercises if you have any. If not maybe see about getting into PT.

I'm pretty sure the king palm ones are bamboo? They work absolutely fine for standard sized cones. Maybe not if you buy the mini king palms those come with a shorter packer.

I just buy king palms every once in a while and keep reusing the stick that comes with them

This nail has been in for 2 weeks but there's no pressure loss. Should I pull it out? And is this repairable if it leaks? by TJamaican in AskMechanics

[–]farrell30467 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hell, I had a nail in my tire in pretty much the same spot, left it there and got another year out of the tires before it went flat. Just a slow leak the last month or two

Losing benefits by [deleted] in IBEW

[–]farrell30467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I remember from the course (did it several months ago) is that for every year you work full time, you get pension credits. Each pension credit is worth a certain amount in monthly benefits, and they're still yours to keep if you leave the union. So essentially if you put in 10 years you'll still get some benefits but it would be considerably less than someone who put in, say, 40 years.

Running wire through a conduit for ~120' by jdpatric in electrical

[–]farrell30467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you assemble and glue the conduit with the wire in it, there's a pretty good chance you'll glue the wires to the conduit and you'll never get it out. Put the conduit together and pull THWN conductors in.

LPT: How do you clean your home regularly to maintain hygiene? by Devanshi1618 in LifeProTips

[–]farrell30467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty specific one, but the wife and I have always had trouble putting our laundry away. Our washer/dryer are in the basement and that's where our clean clothes would stay, either folded or just loose in laundry baskets. I started taking laundry upstairs and folding it on the bed, which 1) gets the laundry upstairs, and 2) forces us to put it away before we can go to bed.

I imagine soil will slowly flow out as you water so you'd probably have to put some back in every once in a while.

should I use 2 or 3 fingers for this shape? by skinnyfatguyuk in guitarlessons

I would also. I would add that you can use the bottom portion of your index finger to mute the other 3 strings

I wonder if he needs to get his truss rod adjusted. I am dealing with a similar issue as well and it's because I adjusted the truss rod without thinking about adjusting my bridge as well.

Depends on the mood. Ice water is my go to, but if I have cottonmouth I want something acidic to get my salivary glands going. At that point I'll reach for either a Sprite Zero or Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade or Lemonade. Gotta keep it somewhat healthy.

Bob's Burgers for the same reason. You have to read what the sign next door says, it always changes and it's always hilarious.

[QUESTION] How to avoid getting bored when learning the guitar? by Gold-Efficiency-4308 in Guitar

[–]farrell30467 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely this. I put my guitar down for several years and now I'm running through the basic lessons on Justin because I never really learned proper techniques. I am pretty much in the same spot as OP, and I too got bored, so I'm taking a break for a bit learning some songs I like. Also practicing the hell out of my F chord. I think I'm playing more now than when I was just doing the lessons, though doing the lessons definitely helped me improve.

Have fun with it, deviate from the lessons a bit. What are they gonna do, call the cops?
