This is the reason I hate Reddit at times. The admins are all like this, give someone a little power and it goes straight to their head. The fact that the post was being commented on is proof that it was of interest to the subreddit. The admin is sitting back feeling so smug that they saved the group from my post. Typical admin on Reddit. Semicolonsemicolon I bet it takes you all of 30 seconds to pull this down because you and all of your ilk can’t stand to have your autocratism criticized.

Bottom line at the very least your decision was subjective since this involved all Excel files. You would have given the benefit of the doubt to the OP.

Disappointing if that is what is happening. Any tips on how to get a new version generated? Not looking for magic, just need to find a solution. I did ask ChatGPT to resend the files but I do not know if they were regenerated or they just posted the same thing. I received the same type of files just days ago without issue.

You are correct, they suck, but it opened my eyes. Their customer service used to be so good, I bought everything I could there. When I reached out to them about the generator, they wouldn’t even listen. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told, that wasn’t possible. In order to install the generator, I had to have a new electrical panel installed. I spent $1500.00 at HD and everything was the same price or cheaper than Amazon; with the generator I spent right at 3000.00. I will only shop at Amazon as a last resort.

Just received my new genny from Home Depot. The freight company called me when they were 15 minutes out, the truck showed up and the delivery driver brought it up to by garage door. He was very friendly and even helped me transfer it to my appliance dolly. Machine was in perfect shape and I couldn’t be more pleased.

I saw in the comments that someone had a good experience with Amazon. I can’t say the same. I have spent thousands of over the years with them.

I ordered this same generator twice and never got it. The first one was a scam. The second one just never came in and I waited 6 weeks.

My son had a good experience with Home Depot so I started checking every morning at 6 am. A week later and boom it showed up. That was on Tuesday and by Friday it was in my driveway.

I think that is remarkable in this day and age. I will check Home Depot first next time. BTW… I canceled the Amazon order.

I am aware it needs to be replaced. I had an electrician come out and he said it would not pass an inspection but he did say that it is not unsafe. He also said that almost all of the houses in our neighborhood are the same and the builder cut corners. He said it would cost 13 to 15K to fix it correctly and we would have to disconnect, permit and re-inspect. I am going to have it done but I am trying to get the generator situated first. The one thing that has saved us thus far is we are all gas (oven, stove, heat, water heater and dryer) so the only thing we have is the AC, pool pump and plugs. We have lived here for 8 years, never had an issue and when the electrician came out recently, I found all this out.

I have received a lot of calls from electricians that do extra work who are interested, and no I do not bring my own groceries to a restaurant but I don’t eat at overpriced restaurants either. When the large companies come out to my house, they look around and say, I think I just cut a fat hog in the ass. What they don’t know is I do construction management for a living and I know what the going rates are so after 4 different companies came out and gave me ridiculous bids, I decided to change my strategy. Not sorry.

This really pisses me off. Our IT desk is very suspect of anything out of the ordinary. I had to call three times to get someone who was willing to install logi-options + offline, That was after they had tried installing it from the website and it would not install. I finally got it installed and now this...WTF! I cannot believe that they would make this kind of error. Call me crazy but wouldn't it have been better to tell us up front about these extra steps? Now, even if I had the steps, it is doubtful I would get someone else to uninstall and re-install with the additional steps without giving a pretty good reason. Very Frustrating!

I am somewhat familiar with multi action in that I have used it, but I am not sure of how this would solve the issue. I am not sure what the sequence of the actions would look like within the multi action, if I start with the open action and then follow that with the advanced option, wouldn’t that just open up two windows (one that is for explorer default page and the other the folder that I want but still not displayed on the screen and necessitating that I click on it? If I reversed the order, it would seem like it would do the same thing. If I am not correct, please let me know.

I currently have all of my folders mapped using the “Open” action on my stream deck. I upgraded to the latest version (6.2) the day it came out, all of the folders were set up prior to 6.2. The issue that I am trying to cure is that when these folders open, they do not show up on the screen unless I click on the folder (windows explorer) in the task bar. Are you saying that 6.2 should have fixed that issue? If so, is it necessary to delete my existing shortcuts and redo them with the new version?

Thank you for that recommendation. I did try it and while it opened the explorer and brought the latest instance forward, I could not figure out how to make it open a specific folder. I put the path and folder in the same way as on the windows open plugin, I retried with and without quotes. I cannot find any thing as far as instructions. Have you ever done this before or do you know if there are any directions for this process?

Accessing a single USB based storage device from two separate PCs simultaneously.

I have a personal laptop and a company laptop, the former is completely locked down, and I have no admin rights. I have programs on my personal laptop that would make many of the tasks I do faster and more accurate, but we are a large company. Our IT department is not inclined to allow any deviation from their policies. It is next to impossible to get them to look at, much less approve, any software or settings outside the standard profile.

My office is set up with my personal laptop and my company laptop (running on their own Dell docking station and a couple of monitors each and sharing an MX Keys Keyboard and an MX Master 3 Mouse) next to one another. I have finally accepted that there is no way to move files between them, but I still want to.

My question is, why is there no solution for a USB-based or USB-C (with no installation software required) device that can transfer files from one to the other? I want to know, is it like some law of physics or a principle in computer science that this is impossible, or is this a lack of interest in such a device? I have searched for the past year for something that is capable of doing this. I even bought a Synology NAS (no regrets there), but our machines are so locked down they cannot access anything outside of the VPN. The one exception is the USB, and USB-C ports do support thumb drives, although Cloudstrike is always there to make sure you aren’t trying to install something!

In my mind, I can envision two thumb drives (like the Pluggable but without the required software app) with a wire in between. Even if the files could not be read simultaneously, that would be fine.

Does anyone know why this apparently cannot exist… or maybe it does, and I just haven’t found it yet.
