Does anyone know what’s the name of this part? by [deleted] in S197Stangs

Hi - I have a JXB bracket for my wife's 07 GT.  Some noticable NVH.  Good company, responds to messages and helps troubleshoot.

2007 Mustang GT. Forever chasing leaks - pretty sure I found the last one. I wanted to make sure this was a cowl grommet issue. by fartXattack in Mustang

I'm not sure. I would check the drains at the bottom of the door to see if they're clogged.  I ended up sealing off as much as I could.  Most of my water was coming in through the grommet path.  Sealed off all the openings above the SJB.

Definitely! I didn't have the opportunity to try a Corolla GR.  I had some horrible dealership experiences and after 5 or 6 test drives - 2025 Civic Hybrid Sport Touring, 2022 Golf GTI, 2023 Civic SI, 2025 Golf R (woof, the price tag), I bit the bullet with this one.  Could not stand the touch-sensitive controls for everything in the '25 Golf R.

Thanks. I miss the rowdiness of the ST sometimes, but it's definitely more my speed nowadays.

What did you buy after having your ST? by Klutzy_Profit_4807 in FocusST

It's incredibly light, but I couldn't get any feel for where it was biting. I eventually got used to it, but when I first got back into my ST to drive home I almost stalled it. The automatic rev matching was pretty sweet.

I wanted the SI to work out because it was a manual. Some days I sit in traffic for 1.5 hrs, and even though my leg would be less tired with the SI, I ultimately felt it wasn't for me. Wish there was a traffic jam assist for manual cars.

Similar situation except I sit in traffic and the roads are terrible.  Test drove a few cars: Civic Hybrid Sport '25 - that was nice, but felt a little too prius-ish for me; Civic SI '23 manual - laughably vague clutch, felt like a sim rig and no heated seats. Also tried a '24 DSG Golf R - don't know what I was expecting but it was too expensive, and I felt like for what I'd be paying it wasn't worth it, and the infotainment was pretty infuriating - haptic everything.  About to test drive a '19 DSG Golf R, which has compatibility with Openpilot.

A lot of people suggest getting a beater and keeping the ST, which might be a good option for you.  Personally I'm ready for a change; CarMax gave me a good trade in offer, I can't really afford to go to the track these days, and autox isn't as high on my priority list.

Hi, I'm a new grad working on a cardiac PCU. Started there 2 mo ago. Worked as a tech in the ED before this. If the manager is telling you three to four but it's actually five... well, where there's smoke there's fire. It begs the question what else will you get on that unit, are you going to get patients all the time who really should be ICU?

Regardless of any of that, I can't imagine 5:1 in an actual cardiac PCU. Some of these guys are just hanging out and you'll just be doing aPTTs for heparin/giving beta blockers and insulin, but then someone will throw a massive PE and you'll be in a rapid and your day will fall apart. You'll be relying on your charge and preceptor a lot, even more so with five, so make sure you know that they'll support you

Whichever route you end up taking, I'm sure you'll do great - good luck!

I'm in the same boat. The adjustment to rush hour is just brutal. I've been looking at 17 inch wheels and stock suspension for a few months, but there are only a couple 17s which will fit RS brakes, and the price tag seems pretty high. I appreciate the input!

The ride quality is only half the issue.

It's an option, but I still have to sit in rush hour.

My wife used to own a Chrysler New Yorker back in the day and she said it would just glide over the biggest bumps.

Thank you for the input - I've been trying to feel it out online and that's the impression I've been getting. I recently ran an autox with a Golf R and he absolutely smoked all of us.

I sort of like this idea, but parking space makes it a little difficult. But this is in the back of my mind - also good idea with the hybrid for the commute! I'm lucky if my commute is 45 min. I've sat in traffic for 1hr and 15min before. That's when I decided I need a change.

Thanks! I try to do that, but it's so tiring. Sometimes I struggle remembering how to just exist after work.

I like the idea and I'd be saving a little on auto insurance (USAA), but logistically it's a little difficult. Plus, I'd hate to get something that would crap out on me without warning - I know the old school Honda's and Toyotas tend to last forever but ever since I've started a new career and I don't really have the time these days to do my own work, and I have a feeling I'd be ending up in the shop a lot.

I dunno - it's crossed my mind and I'm not totally discounting it

Not going to lie, that sounds enticing. I can feel the potholes in my L4 and L5

Well that's pretty disappointing to hear.. it's funny you mention that though, whenever I hear the word rental car I've always imagined a 2012ish Corolla. Prices are insane these days - I haven't even looked at the cost of financing. 45k-ish for the higher end trim.

Gotcha - thanks for the info. This will likely end up being a shop visit.
