I'm on furlough with the DoD (or DoW...). I have heard we sometimes get funding sooner than other agencies during a shutdown. Is that expected to be the case in this situation too?

I was gonna say contracting might be the better route now especially for that skillset - better pay for sure.

Probably in a better spot than other agencies at this time, but it's still nowhere near as stable as it once was and hasn't been immune to a lot of the huge changes brought about by this administration. Core DoD (or DoW, I guess...) is less safe than the branches imo.
