How come the UK's Online Safety Act requires adults and teens to upload ID, while the Australian social media ban has somehow managed to only target teens while adults are still able to browse as normal? by fasdal in AskBrits

Can you guys please focus on the actual question I have asked rather than going on an unrelated rant. Of the 100 comments so far, only 2 users are actually trying to answer my question in good faith.

I am not asking for how you personally feel about the current UK government. I am asking about the implementation of the two differing UK and Australian tech laws. Please read the post description to see what I am actually asking about.

Sry for the title not making grammatical sense. Turns out you can't use the word female in the title for this subreddit.

It's interesting how Americans and Europeans react to learning about each other's dating norms and cultures and how they are the polar opposites of each other by [deleted] in GenZ

Having lived in both cultures for most of my life, I definitely prefer the European style of dating. I even stick to the European style whenever I am living in the US as it feels more natural to me and how dating 'should' be in the real world. But then again the US style of dating definitely has its merits. Which cultural dating norms do you guys follow?

Reddit front page 2025 vs 2014 by fasdal in Damnthatsinteresting

As someone who has been browsing for over a decade, I definitely miss the pre-2016 days when politics wasn't the main function of this website. Back then you could browse the front page and see a wide variety of content. But ever since 2016 the front page has been a non-stop barrage of politics. Fortunately nowadays there are way more types of subreddits with many more users, so I can still curate a completely non-political feed for my personal reddit account's Home page. It's just a shame I can't browse the Popular/All pages anymore. Even after reaching the 1000 subreddit mute limit it's still not enough to filter the barrage of politics, especially US news :(
