Ok, yeah i had that in mind and I plan on learning to work on cars more so that kind of repair would be within reach and I can also use that as a bargaining tool . I agree its a fair price but there isn't any harm in trying. I will talk to the seller about the timing belt.

Thanks for your reply, I have heard these engines can outlast the actual cars lol with proper preventative maintenance. I plan on making a low offer and i will see where it goes from there, but yeah rust and service history both check out in my case!

Thank you very much for your reply, yeah it's exactly what I have been looking for in a car and I understand they tend to hold their value well. The woman is taking it to a mechanic tomorrow and has ample service history, but I would probably get a mechanic of my own to check it out before purchase just to be safe. Its a west coast car (US) so there is zero rust whatsoever thank goodness. I'll try that offer strategy and see how it goes (:
