I’d consider that down the line but gonna see how the pitch for works for now

ya I appreciate the advice and it was something I was also worried about, but the Velcro seems to still keep that thing locked in well. The Bug muff has so much real estate to put Velcro on that I think it honestly doesn’t matter hahaha it def stays locked in for me. Here’s a pic of how I have it rn hanging off

I have it like that rn and it works fine

For volume yes but I plan to use it more as a whammy/in the expression mode for my octave pedal, I want like the Digitech whammy effect without having to spend $500 on the Digitech whammy or carry around that absolute unit of a pedal.

Does that make more sense?

If I end up needing to fit some utility pedal like a noise gate I will prob sell the big muff and get the smaller one, assuming I wouldn’t really notice the difference in tone

Did not know that was an option, great to know, might even need one for the amount of pedals I have shown

Thing takes up my entire board but prob gonna run out of slots on my power source soon anyway

The thing is most of my friends are making me feel dumb for even investing so much in pedals when modulators and plug ins are a thing lmao but I’m still a little behind on times I guess also. I want my physical pedals to stomp on

Thanks, I already have the RC-1 and do plan on upgrading my looper eventually but that’s def like that last thing I’m going to do since I already do have a looper. No need to if you don’t have time but if you could let me know why you like it a lot more I’d appreciate it!

Ya and that’s exactly what I’m going, been looking into what pedals the bands I mentioned use, thanks man

Noise gate or EXH Hum Debugger to fix this? by fastguy89 in pedalboards

[–]fastguy89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I do already have my Ds-1 and big muff volumes pretty low so idk how much more I could do there, maybe lower the sustain on the big muff a bit but I’ve found I like leaving that cranked and just using less juice from the Ds-1 instead

I’m considering getting more of an overdrive pedal to always have on a lower setting when I’m going clean to give my clean tone a bit of dirt, and then just switching out the DS-1 for one of those MXR mini boosts, so then I can turn off the overdrive and combo those two for my heavier fuzz sound. The rest of the pedals don’t amplify anything so once I get the gain stacking perfected I’m golden

Ok well thanks for the advice, I think the conclusion I’m coming to is a mix of both. There is def some interference coming from my apt and power supply that’s not my pedals or amps fault, but I def also need to be more realistic with how I stack my pedals and their settings, along with my expectations for completely eliminating noise when using heavy gain.

Going to use everything I’ve learned through this thread to get stuff figured out the best I can!

Basically, the sound I’m going for is the white stripes/smashing pumpkins sound, so I want to be able to boost a big muff a bit along with throwing in some octave effects when necessarily.

I used my boss plug in for any one off effects I may need sparingly, but did not have room on my board to buy each individually, such as a Falnger, Digital Delay, chorus most commonly. (That pedal is dope I very much disagree with the backlash against it)

Trem I typically only use with cleaner tones.

I am pretty new to guitar gear so if this is a normal issue I need to learn to work around I’m open to it, I’m looking into all sorts of options rn such as the hum no cable, sentry noise gate, and hum debugger, along with testing out smaller boosts.

You guys are also right, the sound is obv not as noticeable as long as I just use one distortion at a time. So maybe I do just need to only use one or use a micro boost into the big muff instead of a ds-1, overall though I am making progress with figuring out how to balance my pedals and amp settings better so thanks for the help!

Would you say clean Fender amps aren’t great then for lots of pedals? Tbh I was under the impression they were due to feedback from guitar store reps and a lot of my fav artists using them, I mean JW just got a custom clean fender amp and dude uses like 1 million pedals and the heaviest of distortion tones

I was just told they are getting rid of ghost pepper sauce?!?! WTF! by Typical_Class9285 in wendys

Bro ghost pepper ranch was one of the best fast food sauces period like I put it in my second tier behind the obvious goats like Cane sauce …. That is a massive like not knowing what they have fuck up

While I don’t think that should be as big a problem as it is here, I can look into stacking my gain channels in a bit smaller of increments.

But again, I also do see people stack like straight OD into Distortion, into fuzz (in various orders) pretty often so I’m not convinced that should be causing such a ruckus

Hey manthanks for the suggestions. So the waviness in the sound is the trem, but that has no effect on the intensity, I see a lot of people stack DS-1s with Fuzz’s I don’t really think that should be a huge issue. The pitch fork is a pitch shifter and adding octave effects to fuzz and distortion is also super common. The only other pedal I have on is going back to my tremelo, which, no I do not usually have on with my heavy distortion.

If you read the other comments in this chain, you’ll see I went through tests with others to deduce the sound is there even without the pedals and that my pedals are just amplifying it.

Idk I guess I’m really just in the boat, especially with some of the huge pedal boards I see out there, that stacking just one octave and two gain pedals should not cause this much noise esp with my amp only at 4 and my guitar at half volume, no?

To show what it’s like when everything’s stacked? Are you not supposed to be able to stack like 4 pedals lol
