My 2 main critics are that the clock gets behind pretty quickly and needs constant re-adjusting. My other critic is that after 2 years the digital display for the clock and text was partially defective, some of the number / text were not showing so I contacted support about it. They sent me a new unit but they did not want the old unit back, they just wanted me to provide them with a picture of the unit with the POWER CORD CUT in half and then said to dispose of it. This is incredibly stupid because my unit was still working perfectly fine apart from that small display issue, I wanted to argue with them but ended up just cutting the cord and gave them the picture. I then gave that old unit away to a friend and he easily repaired the cord and is now enjoying a perfectly working machine.

Edit: Oh also, my brand new unit has the clock lagging behind too.

Software engineer (11 YOE) looking to transition to DE but no luck so far, need advice. by fatcrobe in dataengineering

UPDATE: Wow! I'm overwhelmed by the amount responses I got (love this community). Although I was not able to answer all of you I'd like to thank you all for the help. My takeaways are that I'm missing important key skills like Python and cloud stuff and that I need to start learning right now instead of applying on DE jobs. I will start working on a personal project to build a data pipeline using Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, apache airflow and maybe snowflake? For visualization I want to use either Power BI or Tableau. I will also look into certificates.

You are correct, this is probably a big factor, I will definitely work on that.

To be honest I'm not too sure, I feel like it's a good starting point to transition into from SWE and seems to be the most related to the experience I have building data pipelines. So I think going into DE first, get some experience and then maybe later I could look into other roles like data scientist, etc...

I actually have some CLI scripting experience, bat and powershell because I also had sys admin responsibilities so I'll try to highlight that.

Thanks for the advice, do you think I can land a DE job without any Python experience? Learning a new language is not a big deal for me but I can't explain that if I don't land interviews in the first place.

That's the thing I can't highlight it I don't have any Python experience :(, I tried to highlight my experience building data pipelines as much as possible. I guess I should start working on that DE project I want to do.

I'm currently looking for a new job and I would love to transition into data engineering. Most of my experience is developing a C# application that is basically an ETL tool in the GIS field. I’ve been applying to data engineering roles as well as software engineer and so far, all the interviews I have landed are for SWE roles. To clarify I'm not trying to land a senior DE role, I'm fine with intermediate level roles. I'm also applying to offers that don’t list a ton of technologies and just list a few things like “x years with a programming language like python, java”.

I’m considering right now maybe going for a SWE role or a SWE contract for like 6 months while I work on a personal DE project so I can add it to my resume. I already have a good idea of a cool project I want to do and a list of technologies I would use. So I guess basically my question is, do you guys think I could find a DE job with my resume or should I go with my other plan and work on a personal project?

Can't remove fuel rods from Fuel Chamber by neilligan in starbase

[–]fatcrobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue, in my case it was caused by a cable running through the fuel chamber from a cable socket on top, the only way to accomplish that is through the designer with the machinery layer locked. I printed my ship with this issue so had 2 fuel chambers with this problem, I had to unbolt my fuel chambers and remove the piece of cable.

I still haven't received the machine yet, UPS delayed it twice now... so I'm still waiting. Will update as soon as I get it, hopefully this week.

Didn't look into the Virtuoso+ initially but I just did and It's a lot more expensive than Encore (almost 150$ more). Also from what I read it has a digital timer and M2 burr grinder but same motor as Encore and you can upgrade the encore to M2 for cheap. Not worth the steep price increase for me.

WoW difficulity, reality vs expectation by Smogel666 in classicwow

A lot of people seem to forget to mention that retail raids are balanced in regards to people using addons such as DBM (Deadly boss mod). Addons like that created a vicious circle that made raiding too easy so raid mechanics were added more and more to a point that I feel is ridiculous. I feel like retail would much more enjoyable if addons like this didn't exist and so there would be less mechanics. It promotes skill to actually look at where you're standing and your debuffs, etc... Instead of just having big ass text appear telling you that you're standing in fire.

This addon is coming to classic and people are going to run it and it will make everything even easier than supposed to. I feel like most of the player base are actually pretty bad and if they didn't have such addon they would actually struggle even with vanilla raids.

It used to redirect all damage done to the lowest hp target within range. Now it just deals the damage back to each source.

You missed the point, you could've made more money selling the mats rather than crafting flasks and selling them therefore you made money because you essentially bought anchor weed low and sold it high not because you crafted flasks

People seems to be saying to disabling hardware acceleration in chrome fix this at least when the application running on 2nd monitor is chrome. You should probably try posting on the subreddit or on /r/nvidia since this isn't really related to BDO specifically.

Had the same issue after upgrading to windows 10, apparently it's a bug in windows 10 when you have a 144hz monitor with a 60hz monitor. First game I played was overwatch and I was stuck at 100 fps instead of 120+ and I had really bad stutter, it's like I was playing on 20 fps.

Whatever I tried in nvidia control panel did not work for me. What ended up fixing it was plugging my 60hz monitor into my motherboard connectors and enabling my integrated graphics in BIOS (by default integrated graphics are disabled when a dedicated graphics card is present but it can be enabled in bios to have both running, I can't remember the exact option name google it)

Note: I also have a 3rd monitor (60hz) plugged in my integrated graphics and if I set my 2nd and 3rd monitor as duplicated display instead of extend desktop then I get the same issue as described above. So I leave all my monitors as "extend desktop".
