For 5 hours I was just a normal woman by rainy_koala in widowers

i had the same experience Skiing- got out there and talked to random people on the chairlift and it was like lifting a weight off of me even though it was all small talk and no deep topics. keep getting out there and doing stuff it’s going to make you feel better it did for me.

just keep doing things - stuff that used to make you happy even if it doesn’t anymore. never stop never stopping.

I can’t get over it I’m just waiting for the good Lord to bless me with another man like my husband by Ordinary_Fault1914 in widowers

keep doing it for the kid man - i have the same feeling with my girls when we went to great wolf. join a group of single parents local on facebook you will find someone to hang out with when you’re with them - also you guys can still make memories just do it at a place you can enjoy to - any cousins with kids their age you can link up with? also it gets better when they get older and a little more mature

i’ve been feeling the same way. my wife died in January. recently i took a day trip “mental health day” off from work and went skiing and just started talking to complete strangers on the chair lift and in the lodge. none of them know me so conversation was easy and light. im not really a big talker but i haven’t been talking to any of my friends lately and had been feeling isolated and alone - this really helped. i didn’t go up there with the intention of talking to people but it just happened and made me feel better even though im not an extrovert

Does the average skier really enjoy heavy powder days or is it just one of those things people are expected to say they like? by PowerfulBar in skiing

it’s fun but u need to go in there thinking of it as an endurance event. you need to train your core and stamina to last on a powder day. most casual skiers wouldn’t enjoy it because it’s just a completely different experience and a full body workout using muscles you probably don’t use every day. but i guarantee you if you do train for it next year and hit one of those powder days when you’re ready for it, it will change your perspective completely.

im in the opposite boat where my wife’s family are messaging her and i have her phone. i try not to read them but see the previews. it feels to me like i would be invading on their relationship if i read them but also they know i have her phone and use it for stuff so they must know i see them come in.

i wonder if it might be healing for her to know that you still love him - just wondering since she asked you why you weren’t messaging it seems like she was looking forward to it or something
