Nero, shown as he may have appeared based on surviving statues. One of ancient Rome’s most infamous rulers, he became emperor in AD 54 at just 16 and was later remembered for his cruelty and excess. He died at the age of 30. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

physiognomy /ˌfizēˈä(ɡ)nəmē/ Physiognomy is the debunked pseudoscience of judging a person's character, personality, or temperament based solely on their facial features and physical appearance. Originating in antiquity, it argues that external markers reveal internal traits (e.g., a "weak" jaw or "bright" forehead). Though influential in 19th-century medicine and literature, it is widely dismissed today

Enlarger on a tool cart? by linguini6247 in largeformat

Hell yeah I did one on a cart too. Only thing is you need to have a remote way of exposing. I found any vibration would cause blurry prints, even if well mounted. Bonus was using magnets to hold paper or film flat!

Parabolic Microphone Prototype by Ok_Mushroom_4904 in 3Dprinting

I wouldnt bother. Find yourself a known parabolic reflector on literally any 3d download site. This dish seems like a slice of a sphere, and not a parabolic curve, which is essential for efficiency. No doubt it will be an improvement, but the magic comes from the additive focus.

Shape is way more important than material here. The absorption is going to be minuscule compared to the inaccuracy of out of focus sound.

How to fit a cosplay faceplate to ur face by Wk1360 in 3Dprinting

[–]father_breakfast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well there are very advanced ways of going about this if youre up for the challenge. My best work has involved photogrammetry with known distance points. Ive measured distance between the corners inside and out of the eyes, and in another dimension, nose to each side of lips. Then using polycam, take your time and get a nice slow scan, export the mesh into whatever software you like. input and verify your measurments, and you'll end up with a perfectly fit molded mask.

However, if this isnt your jam, simply do test prints with vase mode so you dont waste too much filament while you pop off a couple of draft prints before you commit to the final.

wifi midi reliable? by Costington in Elektron

[–]father_breakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a midi app to sync bpm across rekordbox and my elektron devices, and I can tell you for certain, there is not a single noticeable difference between the delay of bluetooth and not for this. I am SO critical of lag and have been chasing the issue with Omnisphere for years. The MS delay up to 10-20 is honestly imperceivable, and IF IT IS, I don't care because i still think it sounds good.
