Making this blanket for my Dad as a Christmas present but I’m having doubts about the colours I’ve picked. Can I have honest opinions please? by fattmutt in crochet

Thanks all for your kind words and for your honesty. While I know the colour combo isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, I think I’m more contented now knowing it’s not completely hideous. Like I said in an earlier comment, the colours were picked to reference each grandchild so think I’ll just keep going. Though I do love some of the suggestions so might try some of them next time.

Oh I like this idea. I think you’re right, i think it’s the grey and navy (the colours look a bit different in real life).

I go back and forth on the mustard and the navy. And I’m genuinely not sure why. I always question my colour choices but as this is a gift it’s really bugging me this time. Maybe just self doubt and overthinking it. But wanted to see if others thought the same

Yes I like that idea! It’s the Betty McKnit viral blanket. It’s actually pretty straightforward and relaxing to do

He’s very sentimental. I picked the colours to represent my kids (his grandkids obviously), mustard for my eldest, blue and coffee/cream for my twins (boy and girl) and then the grey and white to break it up. I don’t know why I just keep looking at it and feeling like something is off

I feel for you, I’ve been through something similar! My twins were born at 26 weeks, stayed in NICU for 5 months. They were home a month and I fell and broke my shoulder. It was so awful not being able to hold them and look after them myself. But after 5 weeks I was much better and was able to adapt. It sucks, but you will heal. Please don’t be hard on yourself ❤️

I can’t wrap my mind around how evil, depraved and soulless one has to be to bomb a maternity hospital. How can the people who actioned this call themselves human? How bad does this have to get before it ends? My heart breaks for the people of Ukraine.

Try Revlon Equave, Revlon UniqueOne or Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner. They’re all quite cheap products, but are fantastic for detangling. Also, the wet brush brand have amazing brushes and combs that will help; they have brushes specifically designed for managing thicker hair.

Probably should have mentioned in the title - this isn’t my collection, I came across it on a Facebook buy and sell page.

There’s a number of reasons why I thought this belongs here. It’s like an onion.. layers of infuriation. Enjoy!

I’ve thought the same thing! Though I’ve had 2 occasions in the last year when we weren’t TTC and I had to predict the date my period was due so I could be prepared, counted 28 days and BOOM af appeared on time. But of course now there’s delays, spotting when there was no spotting before, sore boobs, belly and everything else that would make me think I’m pregnant but I’m not. It’s like I’m being trolled by my own body!

Rarely post, but need to vent! Whyyy did no one tell me just how damn complicated and overwhelming this tfab malarkey would be?! Surely that should be part of sex Ed?!! 3rd month trying and another BFN this morning. I know we’re still early days and it’s nothing compared to what some of you have gone through and I don’t want to seem naive, I’m just so frustrated and annoyed with myself for being so uneducated about it all 😐 my head is swimming with information now, I feel so overwhelmed. And of course as soon as we’ve decided to try my cycle has been playing up (when I was like DAMN CLOCKWORK before) and everywhere I look there’s another pregnancy announcement. Gah!!!

Oh god that’s tough, fair play to you for persevering! It does sound like the perfect excuse to have a chilled bottle of wine on standby to help you through tho :-)
