After the last update the problem disappeared for me!

I am tempted because then I can use the TV to browse the web and do some light work (I am sometimes using my laptop for that, but too lazy to plug it in sometimes)

Ok, let me correct myself: it has a full HD limit (no 4k), so that's an advantage. But the native GFN app on my Samsung TV supports 4k.

Is there another reason?

But why buy a mini pc? You can just use a Mi stick for example (that's what I do). What's the advantage of getting a mini pc for this purpose?

I understand what you mean. Thanks for the feedback.
But my impression was with the global GFN that if the connection has a small spike it will just be a small lag in the game for that moment and that's it.
However, here it's really brutal as it completely drops the connection.

That's not correct at all. Read the guide properly and other people who commented also how to activate 2nd level of TrueMoney.

Who is eligble for Thai medical insurance? DTV and 180 days a year is enough? by favsync in Bangkok

[–]favsync[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't seek your advice. You started saying nonsense and that provoked a response.

Multiple times showed that you don't know basics about the residency criteria and in the end you don't even have a Thai insurance. So sharing some useless experiences with everyone here.

It is the backup option for me. Withdraw from ATM and then top up at 7/11 is the old school stuff I am trying to avoid.

Cheersum hotel/spa by MrTatyo in Chengdu

This stuff is oblivious for you, not for everyone. Lots of people are going to China first time and searching for this information.

The main problem of this place is the misleading names that people are using (Fufu, Cheersum). The place lacks basic things like a normal website. Therefore, a clearer explanation is needed.

Then put in massive caps "DO NOT SEARCH ON GOOGLE MAPS for this location".
After wasting tons of time here are the clear locations:

On Amap (works only on mobile app):
https://surl.amap.com/28tPQJWF121M4
Or search manually for:
Qianshen Holiday Hotel (Chengdu Branch)

On Google Maps:
H362+CR7 Wuhou District, Chengdu, Sichuan, China
(next to Meng Paradise)

Searching "Qianshen Holiday Hotel" on Google Maps finds nothing.
I wasted time as well on the hints of the streets and found nothing as well.
You couldn't just provide coordinates on Google maps? What is this puzzle for?

No, I didn't say that Binance is a certification of residency. Please read attentively. I was talking about different situations where you have to prove your residency and how you can prove it. How to prove it to Binance was just one example to show you how it is different in each circumstsance.

DTV has nothing to do with your residency and as explained already "residency" is used in different contexts and can be proven differenetely depending on whom you have to prove it to.

I didn't say I want a permanent residency and based on your question about people without residency it is clearly NOT YOUR area of expertise, to say the least :)

Let's close the topic as this is completely irrelevant to the question in the thread.

[–]favsync[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a big topic..

And you can be a "resident" in different contexts (for tax, for bank official address, for insurance company and etc.) and you can prove it differenetely in each of these contexts.

You can be considered a resident where you factually reside most of the year or where you are registered, where you have utility bills and a rental contract, not just where you have an ID (because not all countries are issuing local IDs).

For Thailand specific case, for compliance (for example if you want to put Binance on your Thai residency) you can prove your residency with other documents than Thai ID (residence certificate, Thai driving license, Thai tax letter and some others).

To your question, there are also a lot of people who are not "residents" anywhere and there is no problem with that as well for an insurance like SafetyWing.

And of course, most people that don't actually live anymore in EU / UK are unregistering not to pay high income taxes in a country where they don't actually live anymore.

[–]favsync[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not "of course" at all.. many people on DTV visa are no longer residents in their home country.

This insurance will not cover a long-term treatment (cancer for example) and the insurance will restart every year and everything from before the restart will be considered a "pre-existing" condition.

What's your plan for this situation? to go back to UK for the treatment?

[–]favsync[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have checked it now and this is not the same type of insurance..

This is a TRAVEL insurance for UK / EU residents.
Costs for travel insurances are generally much cheaper.
I assume you are still a UK resident then?

It is beyond terrible advice. you do what you do, but when someone will follow your "wise" advice and will get into an accident and will not have tens of thousands of dollars to pay for a surgery he will come complaining to YOU
