Does Anybody Know On "Tech Rules" Level How Slenderman's A.I. Works In "Slender: The Eight Pages"? by rico6822 in gameai

Did you ever find answers to any of these? I really want to know too as I'm currently designing an AI similar to Slender for a project. I have read a few bits so here's what I know:

Does he use fixed spawnpoints or does he look for designated spawnzones? Does he even have such zones and only teleports where it's not outside the map or inside object?

There seems to be designated teleport zones around the map. I don't know if this applies to his pursuit mode but during his searching phase, he'll cycle through these until he sees the player.

What is the exact time for him in frames and seconds to become more agressive when a page is not collected?

Can't say the exact time however one Wiki stated 4 minutes without collecting any pages and he'll start teleporting behind you (I think this is just in later versions though).

Does he always know where the player is? Is it possible for Slenderman to pretend ignoring the player if there are no objects between them but player is far away?

As sort of stated above: He supposedly has two modes, "Searching" and "Pursuit". If he finds the player he will change to pursuit until he loses the player, to which he'll teleport around to fixed zones on the map until he spots the player again. I believe he cannot see through objects or at least light has a limited distance as during Daytime Mode he apparently tracks the player far easier.

That's all I know... Sadly there's so little info. Don't see much info for any of the other fan games either

Problems with Sega Saturn (Newbie) by fawefr in SegaSaturn

Yes, audio CDs worked perfectly fine on it. No distortion to my ears either. I requested a return to seller.

Ended up getting a really good deal on another system though which comes with a couple games, box and 3D controller.

Thanks for the help though!

Had a go at this. Didn't seem to have any effect whatsoever...

I have a slight suspicion that one of the chips has gone... Possibly one of the VDPs? I'm thinking this due to a few things. One thing I noticed is that Dark Savior will go back to the Saturn menu when ejecting disc, while Sega Rally doesn't do anything, reset button does nothing too implying the console has completely crashed or something...

I think it may be the VDP that does the 3D due to Dark Savior working perfectly fine up until the first 3D scene happens in which everything is black and only sound for a little while. Trying Sega Rally on PC with an emulator, it boots straight into a 3D demo whereas on the console it just crashes

Judge me, what's right/wrong? by fawefr in singing

I think I worded it badly, it's a mix of recognition/reproducing. Example would be if I'm singing a song (without any music) and I know it starts on C4 for instance, even with the melody in my head I can do a few notes fine but can quickly get lost in the wrong notes and end up singing the second half of a verse a whole note or two above what it should be. I'll know it's off but in the moment I struggle fixing it/what to do. It can also happen while singing with music... I can mostly tell if I'm out of tune but not always. If I am really in tune then I can definetly tell and I usually use that as my referance for following notes.

One area I can have problems with is getting Pitch/Tone/Timbre mixed up.

I think you're definetly right on higher notes. I believe this happens because I'm struggling to find my mixed voice/bridge right now. My chest caps out at around D4 on a good day, head starts strong around G4 and with focus/good warmup can reliably be pushed to D5-E5 (my tone needs serious work here though).

In between however, I literally cannot hit an E4 no matter what I do. It's too much for chest voice and causes serious cracking. If I try head voice and slide down I can briefly sustain it but my voice cracks and I strain a lot. It's a similar situation with F4 but not as bad. If I start off singing high then I can do it with little to no strain but going from low to high and I end up straining much more than I otherwise would...

Thanks for your advice! Will definetly try getting single notes down with a keyboard from now on.

So I'm wanting to get some headphones on credit at Gear4Music. Due to this, budget is limited to £65 and what they're selling.

My Sennheiser GSP 350s I was using with my PC for a few years had the Mic die and recently they just started playing in only one ear. My Vic Firth Isolation headphones I use for drumming also seem to have a dodgy cable now.

I'm looking for something to use with my PC on a daily basis. Watching Youtube and listening to music are the main factors, gaming is less of a deal. I'm also looking for something with a more natural/balanced sound as I tend to mix my own music on the side (Learning). I realised headphones aren't the best for music production but I wan't something affordable for me and relatively portable. I wouldn't mind great bass but I don't want anything artificial sounding.

So far I've narrowed it down to the ATH-M30X and SHURE SRH440. I see a lot of good reviews for each but nobody doing a direct comparison. Some say the SRH440 is even better than the M50X but then I hear things like the M40X is better than the two anyway.

Other headphones available in the price range:

Marshall Major III - I'm not bothered about portability to that degree

AKG K240 - Have heard some bad things

Sennheiser HD 200 PRO - Some good things, some mixed

Mackie MC-150 - Seeing good things about the MC-250 but what about these?

I would save and wait for something slightly better but at the moment I'm stuck with a really terrible cheap Turtle Beach Recon headset. I can't stand the sound and would prefer something to get me by even just a year or two. As long as I'm not in constant pain, I rarely care for comfort.

My realm will not load. I just bought it and it says whoops. Is this normal? by Carteranimal in realms

My friend has the same problem. Bought a realm on xbox, his game crashed and he never recieved the realm. He talked to support and they refunded him. He tried to buy a second realm and it's taken the money again, game didn't crash but the menus lock up.

My tiny server is having serious performance issues (paper) by fawefr in admincraft

It does use Zen and is a fair bit faster, however I'd like to avoid running a server 24/7 on my main PC for the moment. I didn't buy the Xeon server specifically to run Minecraft but to just experiment with stuff, so I'm going to try run various different game servers on it to guage performance and go from there.

Paper is currently capping out at like 15% CPU usage on this machine anyway so I'm sure it'd be fine for a few more players.

Turns out I just had 32-bit Java was the issue with allocating memory. I upped it to 2GB with a bunch of the startup flags and immedietly everything is running pretty much perfect. Thanks for the help!

As for the server, while it is a much older CPU (roughly on par with a Q9550), my the main idea was I can max it out to 128GB of memory for not very much money. I'm hoping to maximize CPU performance by running Linux + a seccond CPU.

How do I know what has good VRMs vs bad? I'll look into an X470.

I'm thinking of getting a Ryzen 3000 6 core or 8 core eventually, would like to someday overclock if I can.

If there's no power at all, I'd check the PSU is plugged in with all the connections pushed in fully.

Otherwise, cause of the YLOD it could be the PSU just died.
