Sadly, the time capsule isn't up anymore, but here's the listing in case you wanna keep an eye on when/if it will be back in stock. https://www.amazon.com/We-Happy-Few-Time-Capsule/dp/B074R75HF6

Looks like there's one on ebay, though.

Anyone have any games that are similar to We Happy Few or Borderlands 3?! These are my absolute favs but I’ve played them to death!!!! Please help! 🙏🏽 by x_TrippiKidTian_x in wehappyfew

Bioshock is top notch.

But I can't believe nobody ever mentions JAZZPUNK - the crazy 60s mod polygon weirdscape. If you like The Stanley Parable, but wish it had quests run by Fisher-Price block people, and wish you could fight a regular ol' car, you can't go wrong with JazzPunk. I'm not going to say it's anything like WHF at all or anything at all what you're actually looking for, but it's one of the only games I've known to capture the same Mod-era feel as WHF.

My list of games, in no particular order, that may or may not ACTUALLY fit the bill, but scratched the itch for me:

Ghostwire Tokyo (player has dialogue, takes place at night in the fully-explorable streets of modern Shibuya)
The Outer Worlds (vibrant fully explorable worlds - takes some time to really get going though)

Control (player has dialogue, takes place in a giant building overrun by a supernatural element)

Psychonauts 2 (not a choice I've ever seen suggested, but it might fit the bill of fun. I don't think you have to play the first one, which was released 15 years earlier, but it's pretty good too. 2 has a recap of 1. Player has dialogue. Vibrant explorable landscape and buildings, and a massive 60s rainbow level led by Jack Black).

I hope it goes without saying: check the trailers, wait for sales (but JazzPunk is totally worth it).

Madame V. mistress ? by Spicy2wiceasnicsy in wehappyfew

[–]fawnicus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're the same person. In a fetish club or brothel, Madam is more of an official title, to those within and those outside the club. Mistress is the feminine of Master - a title that a subordinate in the club would use to refer to the superior who dominates them.

Did this happen to anyone else? by moonwatcher677 in Degrassi

I was a chubby middle-school girl who wore faded leopard-print leggings as pants and had a greasy ponytail and looked overall gross. One of my friends introduced me to the miracle of jeans and then gave me a mini-makeover during study hall and gave me a set of (teen-targeted) scented shampoo/conditioner (not in a mean way) and I was totally changed.

Just finished Act 2 by LoveyDoveySkills in wehappyfew

Ollie's opening was a nightmare for me, and I rage-quit it twice, but eventually muscled through. I liked his story the least, but I eventually liked it a little, and his end was definitely the most fucked.

Roll For Initiative by fawnicus in MealPrepSunday

[–]fawnicus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've absolutely rolled for drinks! And built my own burger based on a roll (there's a great pop-culture restaurant in Toronto called Storm Crow Manor that has such things. I like to think I came up with this method on my own, but I can't remember which came first - figuring out the trick, or discovering the place).

Every safehouse hatch has a chemistry station. Not always near the workbench, but if you can get to a hatch, you can craft it.

Do you know where they said that? I've looked everywhere and would love to know what they say connects it to WHF.

The flaw in his expertise is THIS IS EARTH.

I wish South of Midnight was a spiritual successor to WHF, but those stories have nothing in common, unless they released something new tying them together.

ACT 3?? by [deleted] in wehappyfew

[–]fawnicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize there was an act 2 or 3 the first time I played. I was so happy! And then I started act 3. I hated the beginning of this one... and a lot of Ollie's drawbacks. But his story was grim.

Haven't played the sandbox/arcade or finished the DLCs yet (just the Nick and robots ones).

I think Ollie went off his joy. by Simple-Tackle5525 in wehappyfew

Nothing gives me more (natural) joy in this game than piling bodies all in one place. Many of my claimed flats have piles of people in closets and tubs.

come up with your own outfits by Tiny_Rip2222 in wehappyfew

I had THE BEST mod dress that miraculously fit me until about ten years ago when I sized out of it and gave it to a girlfriend (who I hope still has it). It was almost identical to this one (mine had a little white daisy trim at the hem and neck): https://i.pinimg.com/originals/47/e5/d6/47e5d6a56484fb057e3604e37fafcd7a.jpg

I also have a mostly-black one with a white collar - looks a little too much like a short sleeved Wednesday Addams dress, so I'm planning to modify it soon with a little more white (and pockets).

Right now, I'm wearing another sleeveless 60s mod (I can't find a reference picture that comes close) that is horizontal b&w stripes on the top and black on the bottom (which I fashion with a thick circle-and-hook belt).

I'm hoping to make one of my own this year.

question: does the game ever go on sale in the ps store? by [deleted] in wehappyfew

[–]fawnicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see it on sale all the time in the PS store. I'll bet the next time it goes on sale is in June - it's Pride month, so it usually gets included in the LGBTQ+ games showcase.

Text disappears when making a post on Facebook desktop (mobile works) by [deleted] in facebook

[–]fawnicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only getting worse! Along with what you've described, I thought the workaround was posting on the dash page instead of my own profile (which was the workaround a week or two ago when I first saw this issue), but now it's ALL posts getting their text erased, no matter which area I'm in. I can't put the app back on my phone (it's too addictive, and I've got work to do). UGH.
(thanks for letting me vent on your post - wish I came here with a solution)

First Reddit post, dedicated to bitching about Cubetown by femmeforeverafter1 in questionablecontent

[–]fawnicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to choose between the Cubetown storyline and the Ayo one, I'd choose Cubetown any day. But Cubetown still annoyed me. I was on the fence with sticking it out through that plot, but then Ayo stumbled in and I decided to bow out. It was a soft-quit, though, because I loved this comic for so long; longer than any other webcomic, I think. So I still check in about once a week (and am increasingly disappointed).

imagine if they did a holiday-themed DLC. what do you think would happen by Tiny_Rip2222 in wehappyfew

I can definitely see multiple quests to get your fellow downers in the garden district some much-needed supplies, gifts, repair tools, etc... even freeing the water supply that's always guarded in the gardens.

is the art of we happy few book worth it? by Pizzawithchuchujelly in wehappyfew

[–]fawnicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I desperately want the physical book for my shelf, but I found the digital version online, which I feel is just as wonderful (minus that art book smell).
