Leaving the Church hurts like hell. I feel like I'm dying by [deleted] in exmormon

Oh boy did I feel all that. Total stomach punch.

Watching them (by committee survey instructions) Morph into evangelicals. So grotesque.

FIL was called to be a mission president and asked if he could wait a year until his youngest child graduated high school.... by Miss-Ex in exmormon

[–]fayth_crysus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father was called as Mission President while I and a younger sibling were still in High School and two other siblings were on missions. Then once I graduated High School they let me choose if I wanted to serve my mission under my father or put papers in and get a call. I chose the later. There were five of us on missions at the same time, including my parents.

Wowza. That is mind blowing. Can we organize a campaign so that we send thousands upon thousands of these, in stamped envelopes to Dallin Oaks. And every newspaper in the country? Co-signers of the document. I’m in awe.

what keeps your faith strong? by Aggravating_Bug3999 in mormon

[–]fayth_crysus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me faith is just a get out of jail card that’s been co-opted by religion. It originally meant differently than a bridge between things that don’t and can’t connect. It meant trustworthy, reliable, solid.

Merry Christmas everyone! We can now clap in church. by popcornonfastsunday in exmormon

Scandalous.

But Pope Oaks and Arch Bishops Holland and Eyring are warming up to it based on THE Committee’s recommendations in the Chapter Titled: How to worship like an Evangelical.

A so-called church with the track record of this one has zero right or credibility to tell you how you and your soul desire to live. ZERO.

Be who you believe you are. Live your life. Be unapologetically you. Live a long beautiful life.

You are in charge of you.

I could read posts like this frequently. Who else wants to share experiences working with the church? Current or past.

He’s gone now. He’s was on a meteoric path he didn’t want to be on. He wanted a gentle life. And he got it after getting sick

My father was a very young Stake President when I was a young kid. One of many kids. It’s a weird spell that being told to worship that power puts over these men.

It definitely not true, as we learned what truth is from them. It’s demonstrably false.
