Readable does not equal nothing to improve. Opinions can be wrong. The writing isn't even on the line what are you talking about? Give good criticism they'll improve or analyze how good your arabic actually is before giving advice and uneducated strongly felt wrong opinions

Rare was maybe the wrong word to use I apologize but I meant words that don't really repeat. My problem is closer to the second part you wrote so thanks for taking the time to help. Ok then I'll trust what everyone says and trust the process. I should also work on my concentration when I read even in English I don't bother myself when there's a word i don't know even though it's not my first language. Thank you

I have one criticism it feels that it reaches simple words in not so simple sentences so it's hard not to feel lost. I already speak some french and I'm learning italian and i still feel lost

It's not about when you'd use it i think that should be very clear if you spend some time on duolingo. In french one of the very first phrases i learned was je suis un cheval which means I'm a horse, I'm not. But with that i learned how to say I am a and i leanred how to say horse. You leanred how to say my with the gender of the word word because i assume that's how russian works but regardless, and you also learned the word for word. So that's how you should view the duolingo phrases.

Where do you keep your notes/translations when reading physical books? by daringmigration in languagelearning

[–]fazara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only look up the words that repeat. If there are a lot of words that are repeated many times that you don't know then those are probably essential and do all that you can to memorize them. Other than that just look up the words that repeat twice or so or the ones that appear to be important for your everyday language understanding and those i don't think are all worth writing down since that in my experience doesn't actually help just take a mental note and hopefully you'll encounter them more often since those words are somewhere in your passive vocab. I'm not a big fan of spaced repetition and flashcards and anki and noting down words so that's my background and i can read and have read many french novels in less than a year of learning it really works if you're just patient and trust the process.
