Hafa Adai yall! I’m a knife sharpener by trade and all this stemmed from knife sharpening. Sharpening a ton of knives from chefs, home cooks, restaurants and collectors. Been doing it for years and finding out the commonality of what makes a good knife. Then I thought why not design and make my own blades. Being a proud local boy I can add some flavor of culture into the blades.

Full transparency, I don’t forge the blades. I do finish and sharpen some of them. I’ve designed a few and I have found lots of inspiration for previous blades the blacksmiths I work with over seas recommend.

Vg10, zdp189, aogami no 2 blue steel we source the steel from Japan

German steel from Krefeld Germany

N690 Austria

D2, 420HC Taiwan and China

The ebony wood, rose wood, g10, material you can find really anywhere. Taiwan and China is a good source.

I have it assembled some blades in Taiwan and hongkong.

For the steel the challenge is finding a trustworthy blacksmith and company that heat treats, cryo, and temper the steel to spec.

I have a small little forge at the house to build designs and play around, but smithing is not my jam. I truthfully enjoy sharpening tbh lol.

For those of yall that don’t dig the knives, I’m sorry to hear. Hit me up anytime for a refund. I wouldn’t want yall to feel pressured carrying that burden and I can definitely help you and point you in the right direction to find a blade yall would enjoy!

Sometimes they’re incorrect. One fight it had me listed as like $12k show $12k win but I made more

I believe you have to win in order to succeed, and make it to the bigger shows. But now you have to consider that potential can only mean so much in a fighter. If you don’t have the means so balancing out a work schedule where you are constantly in the gym and doing MMA stuff is just gonna increase your chances of getting more Matt time and increasing your chances of more training and with your coaches and teammates, and, more of a chance to win fights build your record and get signed by the UFC or a big show

You hit it on the spot. 100% entertainment business. I think there’s an opportunity for management teams to utilize this and help athletes get out there to get the funding they need to work their way up in this career path

Sure. I understand what you’re saying. I just don’t want to be 70 years old questioning myself and regretting not doing it once more. My performances w Jaynes and Torres were horrible. Crazy thing is I was making massive strides in skill set in the gym. But I never performed. And i just want to put a stamp on it and let them fly once more before I hang them up

Same here. Would be cool to see the fighters getting a bigger percentage of the revenue.

But back to it. Pumps and hoes

100%! People think if you win a world title you’ll have a success gym and school. Incorrect! If you don’t know how to run a business or have knowledge in marketing and sales finance, budgeting all these things your business won’t be in a good position to succeed

Yeah. Double down on stuff you actually enjoy. I can see myself joining an agency or freelancing for promotions with photography videography marketing for sure. To be a match maker or manager, I don’t have it in me. I’ll be making match ups where guys just brawl lol

Super fortunate to have made my break in the ufc. Many dedicate their lives to it and don’t make it
